Anyone know what part I need to change to get my speedo working correctly its a 97 300tdi auto, doesnt jump about at all just reads completely wrong Done a 450 mile journey last week but the trip counter was upto 500 miles speedo reading is a lot higher than the actuall speed some thing like 20 is 30 30 is 45 40 is 55 50 is 70 65 is 80 Cheers Nick Nick

  4. Have you checked your engine mounts ? If there buggered the fan will chew on the cowling
  5. sorry forgot to say mines a 1997 would you know when top gear kicks in mines not til 60mph according to the speedo cheers
  6. Hi This is my completely standard road car I did think about the transducer but also thought that that would be more complete loss of speedo also thought about the gear where the speedo cable connects to the t box, Can the gear be replaced easily ?
  7. Had a little search but couldnt find anything, Basically my speedo is way out according to my satnav any ideas what I can check/replace according to my speedo top gear kicks in at 60mph satnav reads 48mph is this about right ? 80 on the speedo is around 65 on the satnav Cheers
  8. Did you power the amp back up ? if so do you remember the colour of the wire I know you just connect the ignition live to the amp feed but cant remember which wire it was cheers
  9. cheap (£20) hiking boots and a pr of gaitors and gaffer tape round the top (not too tight as it cuts the circulation) to stop em falling down for £20 you can afford to bin em at the end of the season as said above if ur not in slop above your knees your not doing it properly

  11. Granada scorpios had an electric brake system I've seen a couple offroaders with it fitted and worked very well
  12. personally i recon powder coating is rubbish as it breaks as soon as u rub along a tree then water gets behind it

  14. If you have any broken diffs use all the bits and weld them in rather than just sticking one big lump in there
  15. do you still have power going into the alt (small wire) take it you've pulled the brush pack out (3 small bolts)
  16. I used to have a 88" lwt hybrid which was ok with a v8 but found with a heavy diesel upfront it tended to lift the rear wheels on anything a bit too steep, it was ok once you got used to it recon the extra 12" would make it a lot more stable

  18. 4 point would be better but with standard belts and 3 point harnesses your up to 6 point
  19. Barry just fit standard belts, I dont think it says anywhere in the regs that you cant also wear your 3 point harnesses ?

  23. could be worth sticking a new clutch in while it's apart or atleast having a look at yours easier to split when there on the floor
