  1. all wheel trim did mine when it ripper along the front edge on the motorway, even though it was only 2 years old from exmoor . based in oxford repaired this for about 15 quid. within an hour, and used mohair off cuts inside and out, that are ment to be stronger.
  2. or if you cant afford that you can get ones that just release compressed c02
  3. is this what you girlies are trying to do front view(top left), end (top right ) and plan ( bottom) for those that cant work it out i know its rough, but i really couldnt be bothered and at some point ive lost a line.. you get the picture thsi bit can be cut out and wrapped around the pipe as atemplate this method only really comes into its own when pipes are intersecting at funny angles
  4. time to hijack... what do you make of this. its an early 2.5n/a defender transfer. 1.4 (scrap?) i also have a "spare" 1.2 disco transfer but it came with out a input gear. do i just need the stamped number for the correct type to be identified?
  5. https://secure.visav.co.uk/avshop/products....cat=&sword= Scroll to the bottom... never used the stuff though
  6. So it might just be easier to bolt the tdi in at the same time, instead of faffing around checking the box works fine on the 2.25 first
  7. well i would very much like to bolt these to items together. The problem i have, is the type of starter motor on the series engine sticks out into the bell housing on the series gearbox. the lt77 from a 90 dosent allow this to happen. Does such a bell housing exist? or am i going to have to fit a 90 2.5 pet starter, flywheel etc? chars muchly
  8. Mines in pieces to, but like you say (near enough) i have a saxamo with a tasty 1.6. made it interesting on junctions we have about 2 inches in Weybridge i was well pi$$ to get to work and they had cut off 2/3rds of the carpark for gritting. it really does suck workign for a company obsessed with bubble wrap style safety.
  9. Does "Idiot......Totally pointless thread....Full stop" and "However cos YOUR bored, you slag them off...?" not make you mildy on the hypocritical side!!! but thats just my "personal opinion"
  10. True but they can still do that with out being KING NOBBERS in the process. i wouldn’t have minded if it was a simple case of sorry sir we don’t do that. It was the attitude that if you didn’t go through them you would be screwed and didn’t have enough brains to buy a good'un etc. they didn’t even try to offer any form of help or direction to some one that could. It was just pure arrogance
  11. I had a carp experience of them, my 2.25 pet started screwing around just as i was lookign for a 200tdi for conversion. needed the beast back on the road. phoned them up to find out how much to get the block/ crank honed. i was told they dont do little jobs like that but could sell me a new engine for about 1.5k, followed by you dotn want to buy a second hand tdi they are all carp/ nackered you will waste your money, i can sell you one for £.... so instead i went to a local place in surbiton that gave loads of advise with no pressure or carp, examining individual parts to and telling you what to look for. i had a rebore, new pistons/rings, shells, honed crank for a couple of hundred quid i now have a 2nd hand 200tdi in the garage thats pure fantastical love condition ( its been rebuilt) so im happy
  12. Im after this too, if your willing to spread the knowledge
  13. I need to rig up an oil cooler for the 200tdi disco engine in the garage, as im not using an original radiator where the components are combined. Can you buy off the shelf kits to suit, or am i going to have to size all the components individually? And would any one happen to know the thread size of hose connects at the filter end... i cant quite get to mine at the moment (its lying on its side) also what would be and advisable core size/ amount of rows? is bigger always best? Any help is greatly appreciated
  14. ive got a broken one, its a mr wuffles special
  15. Droop you say 2 leaf front and rear CP springs
  16. tracking is set up to series spec.. dont ask me what it is i did it a year ago, as its rwd, obviosuly when it goes perminant 4wd i will have to set it back to 4wd stylee on the front end. i have a standard rangie steering damper in the standard place. it should roughly be standard issue weight + a tiny bit for the additional length in axles. but its standard box and engien at the moment. i agree the CP are very spongy. the back end becomes a marsh mellow with over 1 person+ a spare wheel in the back. with my imense 13 stone i can jump up and down on the rear end, and almsot reach the bump stops as the tyres are tubless, about 35 psi.. i think you can feel that the wheels arent able to react quick enough to the changing surface
  17. its a lwt, it does it both with standard and now with range rover axles (although dramatically reduced) running 265/75r15 All terrains- tube less
  18. well i have them fitted and they are too stiff,if you dont mind skipping sideways around corners on slightly rough tarmac. then go for it thats with 2 leafs front and rear, cp springs
  19. i wouldnt recommend es9000's on a swb
  20. also mr jeri... dont you already have a tdi with the addition of a 5 speed, this combined with the axle change/ and suspsension will push it over the points system.
  21. MECCANO

    radiator

but hes putting a series front panel onto a 90 with a 200tdi not using a series rad and panel on a series with a 200tdi
  22. mine suffers from leaf wrapping underbraking, and im running es9000 thats what you get for having rangie vented disc brakes. Wanna swop? i was planning on using a damper as a kind of thrid link, as the position for ridgid bar with out imposing flex would be some where rediculous. no idea if it would work, but its gotta be worth a try
  23. MECCANO

    radiator

Will it fit if its fitted the correct difference back from the bumper as a series. engines in a 90 are a bit further forwards, unless your chopping the back of the panel/ rad mounts to bring the rad forwards too
  24. MECCANO

    wet 2a

Bout 1.5 litres in the main i think. look in a haynes manual I wouldnt have thought thats deep enough to drown. unless you where going super fast. if you can keep it running and drive it, you will find that the coughing stops within about half a mile
