  1. Great thanks! can i ask where you found/know that info from? sounds like something i should read or be aware of going forwards....
  2. Purchased a landie relatively recently: a mongrel 200tdi cab pickup from 1992 which had a disco 300tdi put in a few years back by a previous owner. Complete novice with no mechanical knowledge. i have been watching Chris Higgins land rover toolbox videos on youtube and got around to changing the auxillary belt there yesterday. I wasnt sure which belt to get as there are no markings on the old one - just significant fraying! So i got the 2 he mentions in the video as they are only ~8quid each. I tried to measure directly with the old one but its hard to tell as theres very little difference in them and thought the old one might have stretched. So i put on each in turn. The markings on the tensioner are obviously slightly different between the two. I have left on the 7pk 1595 one as the idler pulley seems to stay a little lower to the ground than when the shorter belt (7pk 1580) was used and rested higher than the automater tensioner. The squeaking has gone. Im just wondering if i have done the correct thing? Does it really matter? Cheers!
