  1. Happy New Year. I'm prepping for a 6 month trip round Europe, using as many trails as I can find. Any route thoughts or prep advice would be most welcome, but I have one initial question... Driving Lights, I have LED's on the small lamps but the head lights are standard. I'd like to up rate my night driving ability. Can anyone advise should I add a couple at the front if so which ones (I've looked at quite a few but none stand out) or should I go LED, are they any better? Thanks....
  2. Hmm if i have the vehicle remapped it would be to turn of the engine management light and i would lose the map thats on there. Its been suggested i fit a new EGR valve and leave it at that
  3. Ok ive done my research its the EGR valve going through a clean process. Im told its making the noise because its blocking and it needs sorting. Im going to grt it blanked off and the ECU adjusted unless someone tells me other wise. The grarbox is coming off to replace the release bearing and clutch plates, so ill get it all done at once. Thats my Christmas oresent then !
  4. Ive probaly run lots over! We seem to be skidding round on the poor blighters at the moment. But no I have checked and there no birds in there. The noise, as I can best describe is is a squeeking chug chug noise and I promise Im not having a laugh. Ps what is the EGR valve... Mine is the 2.4. Thanks in advance.
  5. As a newbie to the forum I thought I should say hello. Just returned to the fold with a 'new to me' 2010 Defender 90 van, I used to have the same-ish model Series 3 quite a few years ago. I'm taking it around Europe for a few months this summer and have plenty of questions lined up, especially as I have a release bearing noise to be sorted and a noise I can only describe as a pheasant shrieking when I come to a halt and switch off !! Hi Landy people, any ideas on the pheasant noise ?
