  1. When you said tig rod and sneezed I thought you were going to say it went up your nose, looks like you got off lightly! Please at least get a Dr to look at it in case you need antibiotic cover... Mike
  2. Tell them to deduct the cost of the car from your nigerian lottery win!
  3. My sister has a 109 HT for sale, PM me if your interested, its 95% finished and could be sold with MOT depending on price. Mike
  4. Agree with above, 110 brakes were designed to stop a 3 ton car with a big trailer on the back you'll be surprised just how fast they stop! Well not as surprised as the boy racer tailgating you in his saxo!
  5. I am very happy with my decarbons, but like you, have also been very happy with bilsteins on fast things before. Mike
  6. I just collected mine from the electroplaters, cost me £40 to get it zinc plated and no risk of warping... Mike
  7. Front can be a problem if your legs aren't like a treefrogs! They sit much higher so thighs can hit the bottom of the wheel, also you cannot sit as far back due to the luxuriously thick cushions, I removed mine after a couple of months cos I couldn't live with them! Mike
  8. If you're a cheapskate like me you can dismantle the wiper spindle and turn it through 180 degrees so it wears the other side out! Mike
  9. Merc 190 are easily picked up for that budget and aftermarket parts are easily available, the cosworth engines turn up cheap on the bay too, they are a bit slow but being mercs they have about 3t of excess weight that could be shed! Personally I want that transit off TG last night!
  10. I just replaced my 1 piece doors with cheapo door bottoms and gucci rocky mountain ally tops, spendy but very very nice!
  11. As above give it a service, pack a credit card and an AA card job done! Enjoy your trip!
  12. 1 nylon monofilament is what some sutures are made from so it's probably your knot tying lol
  13. Facepalm! Still we are very grateful for you keeping us all in a job! on a serious note though if infection gets into the bone or joint it can be a PITA to treat so next time go and get the antibiotics! Mike
  14. Looks like wolverine's car with tyres like that!
  15. Why you never go for 'one last run of the day....' For the record I wasnt driving lol Turns out it was a bit icy
  16. Erm yes I don't know yet, I'm working quite a lot of xmas so not sure. Went with series doors in the end as it worked out about £600 cheaper than push button! Have got gucci rocky mountain tops coming so as soon as all the parcels arrive and we get the screen it's paint and fit time, then dismantle and swap bulkhead when it doesn't line up!
  17. Thanks for that, went with the ET ones and saved a fortune, just got to fit the new roof/sides/doors etc and get some pics up!
  18. Hi Anyone fitted these? If so any chance of a couple of pics of them actually fitted? The pics on the site aren't brilliant, their headlinings look great so I have high hopes for the door cards! Mike
  19. They are a dead easy swap, the door card needs a tiny trim near the striker... I did this a few months ago and rolled the 110 last weekend so am now looking for 2 more grrr Mike
  20. I have done exactly this, recently, You will likely end up needing an inspection (NOT a Vehicle Identity Check - these are done by VOSA) at your local DVLA office. VIC are for eg. re-registering a written off vehicle or imports etc... You don't need an IVA check. The inspection requires 1 form filling in, proof of purchase eg your chassis receipt, and 15 minutes of your time. I too am getting fed up of the apparent constant battle between the 'head in the sand, I don't need to follow the rules, it'll never happen to me' brigade vs the 'over the top IVA police / anal brigade' The rules are freely available on the internet and easy to understand, failing that there are several DVLA local offices around / VOSA helpline or DfT website. Whether people follow the rules or not is up to them, I personally am not going to start telling people what they should or shouldnt do. I agree with Les there are far too many people spouting cr@p without actually checking themselves. I feel relatively confident to give advice as I personally went through the whole process 10 months ago. My sincere apologies to the original poster for ranting on his thread! Mike
  21. it was a year ago, I assume the rules have changed? The DVLA man said 'Oh great you have the number on already that saves geting it stamped' I would strongly recommend a visit to your local office to have a chat with your local inspector. Mike
  22. I have rechassied mine, Richards stamped my number on before galving, I wrote a covering letter to my local office incl receipt and pic of chopped up old chassis, I had to take it to the local office where I filled in a form and it had a 15 min inspection (very thorough though, every number checked) new logbook identical to the old one arrived 2 weeks later, no hassle and all nice and legal
