Thank you very much, it is indeed the grommet with the shaft through it
-
And expect them to be rubbish, low valuations.
I bought a reg from regtransfers, for £2500. About 6 months later asked them for a valuation. 10% of what I had paid them for it

Anybody, please. The big rubber grommet for the clutch slave cylinder operating mechanism in the bellhousing of the 2 1/4 petrol

Thank you very much for your offer. I phoned the parts department at my local dealer and they sorted me out with the part No but at over £3.06 apiece, they can stay on the shelf.

Sorry but you are either being short sighted or just stubborn?
Either ask for DIY/easy maitenance using the current/next standards or you have to pay someone to do it for you.
Of course we can join the greens and go back to living in caves to save the world (oh but wood fires emit CO2).
I make my life choices and feel no need to explain them to you

if you can find out the thread of the plug in the side of the LT230 or the top of the sender unit in the R380 then it ought to be possible to fit a VDO temperature sender to either/both and compatible gauges in the dashboard.
-
there is the facility to fit a warning light sender to the LT230 as well should you feel so inclined.
Never had any problems with transmission overheating, even when flogging through deep sand in the Sahara

having spent roughly 30 years flying a desk with 4 phones, a work supplied cellular telephone and 4 computers. I have no desire to engage with them in my private life. Other then in the room wherein this particular device is located

I'm sure the engines can be built to be field repairable, at a cost.
Use of brass, more modular components, high grade plastics that are UV and temperature stable.
All possible.
But when the architect who drew the design, has to tell the engineers who specified the engine to remove the plastic engine cover in order to meet the pedestrian crash standards, I wonder if they really have the right experience to build an African mechanic proof vehicle.
ECU's are fine, everywhere has laptops now.
i haven't got a lap top or a cellular telephone

The 2020 Defender hasn't yet been officially released or made available to the motoring press in UK, due to covid restrictions. haven't seen any tv adverts for it either.
There have been numerous adverts on the idiot lantern, depicting the vehicle doing ruffty-tufty things
-
apart from a parked 90, which looked like a Kia soul from a distance, I have yet to see one in the tin

Sorry, I hadn't noticed that you are located in Spain. Presumably you can order the necessary parts through your local dealer.
Or look them up on www.thepart.com and see if anybody, anywhere, has them available
-
If you look here https://www.seriesdefender.com/manuals.html
You should be able to find the parts list for both NAS 90 and 110.
If you find the relevant part No you can order the parts you desire through a UK dealer

When that sells, we know we're entering the era of Mad Max...
It sold for £2015 after 14 bids.

I particularly like the road surface inspection portal around the gearstick.
I can't see Mercedes being too happy about the proliferation of their badges stuck all over it.

Given how many other noises there are to listen to in a Defender. I wouldn't bother. I have a radio, cassette and a CD player in mine and I honestly cannot remember the last time any of them were used. Now I think about it, I don't think the CD player has ever been used
-
It should be possible to adjust them. Failing that they were still available new, for an exorbitant price. It will involve drilling the rivets out of the lock assemble to get inside it and see where the worn components are
-
the connectors were available from autosparks as mentioned above
-
Obsolete. It is the tiny self tapping screw which holds the shield for the oil seal on the front of a V8 timing cover.
Does anybody know the size, please? I removed mine, put them somewhere safe and cannot remember where it was

Hi
Hello I am new to this forum. Apologies if I am duplicating a thread. I did a search but could not find an answer.
My 2003 defender has all round LED lights. I live in the countryside and it gets very dark because there no street lighting. The standard headlights are like candles and therefore useless. The LED lights are really good you can be seen and you can see things running into the road. Problem is the MOT inspector said he could not pass it unless I put the old ones back in. He did not explain the actual problem it is just the rules! So I am in a ludicrous situation where I need to swap headlights for inferior ones to get it through a test which is apparently there to make sure the car is safe. Problem is until I put the LED ones back in I can’t see where I am going.
Given the number of after market LED lights available I assume this has been overcome by some.
Anyone know what is going on and if you can put LED lights in a defender without falling foul of the bureaucracy that seems to be contradicting itself. I have found some that say they are ok for MOT but are not CE - which mine are.
Thanks for you help
If you cannot see where you are going with the standard headlights, it might be worth having your eyes checked for any possible problems which might cause this difficulty.
Whilst the standard headlights might not be as bright as the latest laser cannons fitted to a lot of modern cars they were/are perfectly acceptable for night time driving along roads which are not streetlit

A decent motor factor ought to be able to source yu a master cylinder. From memory it is something like 7/8"
If you cannot source a replacement then it is possible to have them sleeved internally to restore them to original, however that is NOT a cheap option
