Managed to give it a road test yesterday and wow what a difference the hybrid turbo and Mamba actuator kit has made, not had it on the Mway yet but it will easily boost to 1.4 so hopfully will boost more on the Mway 🙂
Got the engine running earlier after fitting everything back on ( front panel and stuff ) and once the engine was warm a i gave it a good rev ( not loaded ) and it boosed to 1.0 bar, its never done that in all the time i've owned it but will tell better once i've given it a road test 🙂
I wish this weather would go away as its been to cold to work in there so although the engine is back in now i still need to fit everything back in place, can't use my log burner as my Son's motorbike is parked right across the front of it and can't move it anywhere else whilst the landy is in there and didn't have anywhere else to put it 😟
Its the gearing as well as big tyres thats doing it, i agree it shouldn't struggle but my tyres are best part of a foot wide, a foot deep and a foot breadth plus 1.5" taller coupled with 3.54 diffs plus o.d
No dyno's, just want it to come in earlier and last longer as on long Mway hills it runs out of puff about 60 then your back on engine power but on the flat it will touch 80 easy so not expecting it to go fast but to climb hills better at a faster speed
Hi guys
To help with the high gearing i have 3.54 diffs, Romerdrive and 235/85x16 tyres with a 200tdi fitted i'm fitting a Hybrid turbo with a Mamba actuator and spring kit as i'm only boosting 1 bar and want get it to 1.5 bar to climb hills better ( roof tent fitted )
When driving it will stay just above the cold mark but when your in traffic or come to a stop the gauge risers to normal and stays there that when you have heat then when you get going again the temp drops rapidly and the heater goes cold
As you say it is drafty in there and i know they are not air tight but my bonnet doesn't sit right as it looks like in its previous life someone has tried baring it up on both sides so that won't help, i do have a replacement bonnet to go on but that will be done when it gets a respray next year and i have been thinking about one of those one piece mats for in the cab which may help
Hi guys
On a long distance drive, Cornwall back to Manchester my heater late 2a square type heater is nice and toasty in town and country driving but on fast roads like A roads and M ways the heater goes gold till i either slow right down or stop then once i get going again it goes cold again, is this common with a tdi conversion or do i have a problem, and yes there is a thermostate fitted, any idear's please
