  1. I spent the last two weeks around the Billing area with family but forgot the date. On Saturday I drove past Billing in the afternoon to go home, normaly the area is awash with Land Rovers when the show is on, this time I did not see a single Land Rover and only realised that it was on when I went online Marc.
  2. Nige, The Iver ford starts/ends at Reel Steel so you can get new parts after you drown your V8 Marc.
  3. Why? The RAC used to offer off road and motorsport recovery or did this only cover road vehicles used for motorsport? I may have just answered my own question. Doh! Marc.
  4. Thanks for the reply Simon, are you an serving/recent Traffic Cop or just more knowledgeable than most others? Sorry for the delay but I had some family issues which has kept me away from the computer. Marc.
  5. Hi, As this thread looks to nearing the end of it's discussion, I would like to ask a similar question which would follow on this? I have a Series 1 with out an MOT and currently on a SORN. I need to take it for an MOT which is OK without a valid MOT or TAX if pre-booked. However driving a vehicle whilst SORN is a £3,000 fine. Does anyone know the regs for this as the SORN site does not mention it? Cheers, Marc
  6. So why don't you know the answers Must admit I was a bit hasty and did not look to far My other comments may seem cheesy but it was the best way it was explained to me! Marc.
  7. Hi Todd, First a smart answer, Things are only worth it if you want it? second, if you paid the price they are asking (which you say is half price) would you feel unhappy or cheated? if you did not buy it and someone else bought it would you be disapointed? Next here is a thread from this very Forum which may or may not help? Clicky. Marc.
  8. Unless I have missed something. If you change the fuel type as above Diesel to Petrol the DVLA will get very interested as previous posts on here seem to demonstrate. Interest includes making an inspection that leads to other things depending upon any modifications found. Marc
  9. Are you sure that they are the same thing? Your pic looks like a solid rubber ring for fitting under the spring, whereas the other looks like a sleeve that fits around the spring coils? My impartial veiw. Marc.
  10. OK, I am used to point releases as bug fixes and decimal releases as new functions but both automatic. For my sins I have now gon to 3.5 so as not to feel left out For work I use IE8 and play I use Firefox mainly as I use a different connection for work so I don't need to keep changing settings on one PC. Marc.
  11. Odd. Wonder why my upgrade only went to 3.0.11 then?? In that case I have no experience to off on your problem Marc.
  12. Odd. As it seems like the sh$t who stole it wants to keep it you might think that the plod might want to leave it there and keep an eye to see who picks it up? Or is that too much work to carch someone who would only be cautioned anyway? Glad you got it back even if it is misiing the winch. Some time ago my mate stopped for breakfast with his mowers in the back of his pick up. When he left the place he saw one of his mowers going in the back of a van. He tried to pull it out as the van left but could not get it off the guy in the back so he called the plod. Plod wasn't interested, lated in the week he spotted the van outside a house around the corner from him so he called plod again, they still weren't interested. Marc.
  13. Actually, When you say Firefox 3.5, do you mean 3.0.5 as I have just now upgraded to 3.0.11 which is the latest unless you have a different application? Marc.
  14. Nice comment on that Forum from someone unsure of the whole detail of the topic. "Again, sorry for the ignorance but I've always stayed well clear of anything to do with Scorpion Racing. Initially it was just that I thought they were horrendously overpriced and average quality, but then when I heard about them ripping off X-eng products and putting their name on them I made a conscious decision not to ever buy from them and, as such, blotted them out altogether." Marc.
  15. This sounds like a fabulous event, unfortunately I have a total inability to plan more than a week ahead Marc.
  16. I don't seem to have these problems, but it does seem to take an awefully long time to load from start now. I know this does not seem like a big problem but the reason I moved to Firefox was due to the rediculas time it took IE to load. Marc.
  17. As much as I hate Speed Cameras and thier inability to reduce death. Speeding through a traffic light controlled junction, or any junction does not make sense to me. But I admit it does smack of "if they manage to get through on Green/Amber then they must have sped to do it" though. Marc.
  18. Hi Sam, How about a picture of the Hub? The disk and Pad shot does not really help:) In my quick opinion you are probably correct in your assumption. Marc.
  19. Also to complicate matters, once the pump is off. Check the pump housing for erosion due to cavitation. If bubbles are created behind the pump blades it will eat away the pump housing body until a hole appears through to the timing chest! This depends a lot on how old the engine is? I have had very old engines so this may well be alarmist info. Marc.
  20. The housing includes the rear bearing for the centre diff and the thickness of the gasket on the aluminium flange controls the preload of the bearing. Unnecessary info probably. Marc.
  21. Lets see a pic of your home made safety gear made of rubber sheet Marc.
  22. Another thread but for RRC Wheel flange to wheel flange. Here. Marc.
  23. Bizarre company, I just looked at Series 1 Front and Rear props (same as Series 2 etc. Rear). Series 1 Front FRC4907 £38.30 + VAT. Series 1 2 & 3 Rear FRC4907 £41.30 +VAT???? From website search. Results 1-7 of 7 1.FRC4907 Series 1 1948 to 53 Front Propshaft(Series 1 Front Propshafts)£38.30 2.FRC4907 Series 1 1954 to 57 86" Front Propshaft(Series 1 Front Propshafts)£38.30 3.FRC4907 Series 1 1954 to 57 107" Front Propshaft(Series 1 Front Propshafts)£38.30 4.FRC4907 Series 1 1954 to 57 86" Rear Propshaft(Series 1 Rear Propshafts)£41.30 5.FRC4907 Series 1 1954 to 57 88" Rear Propshaft(Series 1 Rear Propshafts)£41.30 6.FRC4907 Series 2/2A 88" 1958 to 71 Rear Propshaft (4 Cyl)(Series 2/2A Rear Propshafts)£41.30 7.FRC4907 Series 3 88" Rear Propshaft (4 Cyl)(Series 3 Rear Propshafts)£41.30 So if you want a Series x Rear Prop buy a Series 1 Front Marc.
  24. Couldn't find anything about Anti FOD Tyres. But I did find this from a Presentation. And this about Tyre FOD. Marc.
  25. I have a strap for a socket ratchet, I think it is a Draper one. It is very good but sometimes will crush a filter before removing it. This is not a problem if you do not intend reusing it (why would you?). Marc.
