1989 110 fitted with full 300tdi and r380 gearbox using all standard parts. . my clutch slips if weight of boot on clutch pedal, so when i changed gearbox i fitted another clutch and its still the same if not worse.
changed master cylinder, slave and hose made no difference.
master i even adjusted it to pull pedal down so return spring would pull rod back
also tried with nuts loose and still the same
loosened slave bolts right of to check if any pressure held against slave and all good. can push slave back into box easy by hand.
have loosened bleed nipple and fluid drips out so not holding pressure anywhere
now stumped
any suggestions appreciated
when you test for power do you have the engine running and heated rear window switched on?
also you will still need dash lights plugged in to energise the alternator
the ball joint kits have different part numbers and no other supplier seams to cross refrence/superceeded numbers so perhaps they are not interchangable
according to the online parts catalogue yes rtc6398 for rhd 6 bolt and stc1044 rhd 4 bolt.
john craddocks say the stc1044 is superceeded to rtc6398 so would suggest can be interchanged
input shaft different lengt, spigot bush dofferent diameter, splines different, bell housing different length.
it wont be a direct fit and needs stripping and bits swapping to make it fit.
search on here td5 r380 into 300tdi will give you info on what needs to be swapped
agree my eberspacher 801 controller has the temp sensor built in to control fan and heat level but when i looked into it and even that looks like its just a on/off signal
im tempted to buy an ebay special sim controlled relay to text it to start
also an 801 can be set for for different run times so wonder if a 2 second pulsed signal will start it and run for an hour
theres alot of vw campers running the heaters without issues. alot have also done the co tests and someone even used thermal image to compare to an eberspacher and results were very close as to not make a difference.
also the chinese have flame out and overheat sensors and when stripped down are hard to tell apart.
now how long they will last is the 5million dollar question.
facebook have several groups for these heaters and main issues seam to be the glow plug fails which a genuine ebber plugs straight in
theres an average of 3-5 a day being reported on landywatch facebook page. alot get used for parts or cash point removals.
others vanish into thin air so christmas has nothing to do with it just a very easy vehicle to steal and handy to pull out cashpoints
it was sent to the eberspacher dealer for service and checked over as it kept smoking and cutting out, they said it was because its too big for the landrover. so i sold it and got a 2kw and no issues since and it still cuts down to tick over as heat is still in ample supply

apparently if you need parts then they all use the same gaskets and glow plugs as a eberspacher d2 airtronic
