  1. Na they were Phillips brand but i do believe they have failed so I will go back with standard lights but brighter because they gloves i have are terrible. Any recommendations on what globes you think is best would be awesome. Thanks heaps for the help
  2. Any help would be appreciated ?
  3. I did double check by testing with a mate. First I put the lights on a shed wall and then tilted them down until I was happy with it not being up too high and then asked a mate to drive toward me on an open road. Seems like a lot of effort to go through but i myself hate when iam driving toward somebody and i cant see because of to lights being too high or bright. I am not one of those ignorant drivers my lights are only 55w instead of the overkill 75 to 100
  4. Hi guys I am after some advice . 6 months ago i installed a hid headlight kit (awesome lighting) in my 1994 discovery . 4 weeks ago hid spotties were installed with a relay but setup so that they turn on when I put high beam on. in the last few days one headlight would turn on and off as it please and now today I have no headlights and spotties flash on and off. The headlights still flash on when I turn lights on but turn off straight away. can anybody please try explain to me want id happening. Oh and I just put my old headlights back in and they work just fine but still the same issue with the spotties
  5. I just found that the idle stepper reading is 0% when warm. is this odd? its a new stepper but maybe its faulty
  6. No still no new codes. When it fired up and started running really smooth i could have cried i was that excited hahahaha
  7. Also ive just taken it for a good drive and found that it loses power but then takes off fine again.once i had to stop and start it again and started fine and drove fine again
  8. All fixed guys . not really positive but i think it was to do with the burnt track in the ecu. now just needs a timing . what timing do you guys recommend ? i cany thank you guys enough for all the help
  9. One thing i haven't checked is the regulator . could this make this kind of issue?
  10. Same as it always has done since doing the head gasket and removing the gas.Smells fuelly when i try start it and sometimes starts and sometimes doesn't. has no fault codes anymore though which is good
  11. Okay cheers. still no luck with getting it running. could the ecu be buggered possibly?
  12. If the rovergauge is saying these while trying to start does it mean its fine or? obviously something isn't right ? Throttle position sensor :6% Stepper: 100% Maf: 1% Injector duty 3% Pulse width: 16.64ms Any help would be great..cheers
  13. Little update. Had an auto electrician friend come up tonight and that there was a track burnt out in the ecu. After fixing it up the rovergauge say it has no fault codes and everything seems to be okay but iam no professional at reading the rovergauge. I have a picture of it but i cant upload to show you because apparently the file size is too large. After all this the bus wont start.
  14. Yeah no resistance mate. Ive now tested to see if there is any voltage at the coolant and fuel temp sensor. Checking each wire on both plugs has told me there is 9.10v on one wire and 5.05v on the other...same reading on both plugs. Does this mean there is no break in the wire if its getting voltage?
  15. Ive cleared the codes and still the same. I also tested the resistance step by step from the hotwire efi and it seems there is no resistance or iam doing it wrong. I don't think thats my wire codes sierrafery but ill have a look tomorrow as its dark now
  16. New sensors have finally arrived today and installed. I still have the same fault codes and its still running like carp. Can anybody tell me how to check them correctly in a step by step? Thanks to all that have been helping me out. I really appreciate it
  17. Would it still have that fault code if ive reset the ecu? Ive ordered new coolant temp and fuel sensor either way just to be sure. Unsure why the throttle position sensor is always reading 99% though
  18. Awesome. Thank you for the help. Iam hoping this has been the issue the whole time, it has taken such a long time to figure out whats going on. the rover guage and you guys have been such a massive help, so thanks again. Is there a reason the throtle sensor would be sitting at 99%?
  19. Okay so in your opinion it seems like they have just failed and will need replacing? Cheers for the fast reply mate ?
  20. ive now found out how to check fault codes. Iam currently getting codes 14 and 15 which are coolant and fuel temp sensors. Ive replaced the coolant sensor already so is there any there reason these codes would be coming up?
  21. I have a 1994 3.9 discovery and for 2 months have had a lot of issues with poor running and black smoke so i got a rovergauge to see if i can find the issue but iam not clear on how to use it.the readings iam getting are: MAF READING: 99% THROTTLE READING: 100% IDLE BYPASS: 99% It says i have fault codes but how do i find them. Cheers
  22. Ive replaced and then checked: Throttle position sensor, coolant temp, maf, dizzy and module. The coil, lead and plugs have done 400ks at a guess. Auto electrician checked the spark and said it was good. Everybody thats heard the vehicle seems to think it sounds like its not running on all cylinders. Ive had the rocker covers off again today and everything in turning over smooth in there plus compression test says its perfect. I did have it running a few days ago (still running bad) but now it won't start. Ive had the bus 1 year and never ran it on LPG. Iam getting plenty of fuel i believe. My oil now smells of it so ill need an oil change once again id say
  23. Ive gone back over its all again iam still no better off. I just cant understand how its gone from running great to fixing the head gasket and removing gas and now running like this. Ive had mechanics look at it and auto electricians but they cant work it out (none have ever worked on discoverys before though).
  24. Ive been doing the troubleshooting guide but so far found no issues. The engine in now running but still running rough and blowing black smoke (not drivable). I guess ill have to go back over it again
  25. I believe I may have found an issue but I am unsure. While the engine is running ive disconnected the AFM but no change in the engine. I done the same to the throttle position sensor amd also no change. Is this something I should look into?
