  1. Air down, When and how much? Thank you all for your input on this topic. So I just purchased a set of BF Goodrich AT KM2 for my Landrover Defender 110. Drove from Lima to Huaraz, Peru all tarmac. They are currently set at 35PSI. So my next question is : Should I be running les than 35PSI even if I am on tarmac? It appears that it really is subjective as to to how much air one wants to use. I was impressed by the way they handled on tarmac. These tires were recommended by some of the responders to my topic "Steep downhill, clay, mud
  2. What is the recommended tire pressure to air down when going off road? Should I air down every time I go off paved road surface?
  3. I liven the Andes Mountains of Peru and we have two seasons, wet and dry. It is necessary that I travel up and down some some very hazardous roads. The roads are very steep and narrow. There are various types of soil that when when turns into a very soapy, greasy form. I have had times when I had to let the off of the brake completely and pray for safe landing. I now drive a Landrover Defender 110 but have had a Landcruiser and gotten into trouble. Some of the problem was due to BFG tires filling up and not cleaning out turning into slicks. I am looking for a new set of tires for the Landy which currently has Goodyear Durawalls 235/85/R16 as stock tires from Factory. I drive 90% off road on mountain gravel, rock roads which change in rainy season. I am looking for two recommendations: 1. What tires would be recommend? 2. Recommendations on steep greasy roads down mountainsides? I have been looking at the BFG Mud Terrain T/A Km2 tire. Any thoughts or suggestions?
