  1. Hi all,

been a while since i have been on here but just wanted to spread the word !!!

Last night i had my First Four Defender Air-Con Tubular Winch Bumper with 'A' Bar & my goodwinch TDS winch with blue bowline on nicked from outside my house!!

the winch has never ever been used it is about 3 months old and the bumper is also in a new state.

any information leading to the recovery of this equipment would be most greatful- please PM

i am sure the thiefing :angry: scum are local and the same scum that knicked the top of my snorkel a few months ago :angry:

just wish they w2ould get a bloody job and buy their own gear!!!!!!!!

    ps i am in Essex

  2. Well cheers for all the help and advice on this, although this has turned into rather ammusing reading :P

think i am gonna go for the x eng purely for the weight issue. although i am tempted to have a crack at building my own.

but like all these things it's down to time and if i really will get round to doing it or not so looks like i have just gotta wait for the new batch of x eng ones to come in if their not already.

  3. hi all,

when it comes to in car Pc's for mapping i am a complete novice!! i have been trying to understand some of it from other threads i have read but end up looking at the screen a little on the perplexed side

I love the idea of being able to use Memory map alongside road navigation software with the long term intention of being able to use it for challanges ect.

i am not that keen on having too much on display in the car as it would be vunrable to say the least ! so toughbook or alternative would be a plus.

so if anyone fancies explaing this to me as simply as i would have to explain how to use the internet to my mother, then please feel free to either

direct me to a shop or website that supplies such eqipment or if your feeling really brave please try and explain to me

any help would be greatly apprieciated

    Thanks

    Dan

  4. I have LandRover ones in both my 110 & 90 which have lasted well and taken a fair bit of abuse. Luckily i managed to get both sets at a good deal cos they can get very expensive direct from landrover! i used to have some exmoor trim waterproof seat covers in my old disco aswell, these were bloody good value for money and lasted well + looked a little better the the LR ones !

But i am trying to find waterproof seat covers for the bucket seats in my disco does anyone have any ideas what waterproof covers will fit a Bucket seat without lloking to much like a bin liner has been slipped over the top of em

  5. senior in the company lol who pays for this blokes holidays in the first place and if he is going to bother replying why take so long about it, if a senior member of the company takes that long how long will it take to get a response from your telesales person !!

A customer is a customer in my opinion doesn't matter if they spen £20 or £200,000 unless of course they want to fall into the bracket of another well known supplier who couldn't give a flying monkeys about it's customers !

Their be painting all their own gear bright orange next !

  6. My Dealings

i purchased a snorkel from Paddocks for a 110TD5 and they sent me a left hand drive model with the LHD clearly badley cut off the seriel number on the outer box but left on on the inside - they know they have issues as they admited it after a bit of preasure on the phone they also sent a dodgey one to a mate of mine a few weeks previous to my experience ! go somewhere else, as soon as i got off the phone to Paddocks telling them to send a courier and pick it up i phoned Devon and was told that it would be no problem to order the Safari Snorkel for a TD5 RHD which i had been told by Paddocks didn't even exsist !!!!!!!

Clearly some muppet at Paddocks messed up with Numbers when placing their order from Safari Snorkels and are just trying to palm their issues off on their Customers....

On a brighter note i must admit that my Customer Service experiences with Paddocks was fine...

  7. Whilst suffering from a dose of man flu last week and having my Disco in the workshop i got all depressed suffering from a lack of off roading and bought one of these !!

    Black Discovery

i was shocked to see the size of this thing when it turned, up it's huge ! but not suitable for a real little un

they also do these which i think look better but are a bit slower & smaller

    G4

the black one does take 4-5 hrs to charge which could be a bit of a nightmare on christmas day.

the rockery in my Garden has now become a rock crawling competion amongst mates !

    Great fun !! :D:D:D:D:D:D

  8. Nice Pugwash

this info really couldn't have come at a better time for me as this is something i have been considering for a while but not had a clue where to start.

Thanks & looking forward to part 2

    Dan

  9. Why would there be a difference between RHD & LHD? the air intakes are both on the same side (RH) for a Td5,regardless of where teh steering wheel is.

LHD Model requires silcone where as RHD model has sealed tube at end which connects directly to the hose! a much better seal in my opinion

  10. Has anyone else recently ordered a safari snorkel from Paddocks for a td5 ?

Dont bother because their sending out left hand drive models claiming safari have stopped shipping right hand drive models to the uk and that their is no differance between them! funny that i have already found two other uk shops that can supply them in RHD

oh and just to rub salt into the wound their also cutting the last few digits off the part number on the box which ends with LHD ( why bother )

also not just me had a friend order one for his 90 a few weeks ago and same thing happend !
