  1. My '89 90 truck cab recently went for it's first MOT in my possession. This is a project truck that I'm working through issues. I knew there was no light working for the handbrake; something I would get around to sorting (!). It passed the test, but the tester queried whether the missing light was a fail; it wasn't. Anyway, I looked into it today and there is no switch system or electrics connected to the handbrake at all. There does appear to be a bulb in the dash. So, did this vehicle never have the system? The handbrake bracket is different to the one shown with a switch in the Haynes manual - no screw location for a switch. Is the switch elsewhere? Thanks, David.
  2. I need a new spring for the accelerator pedal on our '89 90, as it is broken. It's the one around the pivot of the pedal. I would buy a whole assembly if I could find one, as the bracket metal is also blown with corrosion at the bottom. The only springs I can find are for the engine end of the cable.Cheers.
  3. My Defender has, since the cold weather started earlier in the year, cancelled the indicators when you are turning the steering in the direction you are indicating, rather than just on the return steer. There was no problem in the summer, so somehow temp related. Very annoying, as you have to hold the stalk in the desired direction to keep the flashers on when turning the wheel. Any ideas? It's under warranty, but wondered if there's something I can look at before the hassle of booking it in at LR.
