  1. I converted my pulse / battlefield ambulance to 12v. fairly simple to do and I find it simplifies things as for spares if needed / wiring other components in.
  2. Ok ta, would certainly be worth the time and investment. I'm sure it would not depreciate, plus the fact of having something different whilst in ownership. Kev
  3. Just out of interest, how much would this be worth finished? Properly.
  4. Tidy work Phil, methodical and precise. Good to see 19j going back in as opposed to out, I am guilty of removing these in favour of TDI's, eventually all scrapped and nothing left original. Keep up the good work, Kev
  5. Dod, there are some spectacular locations there for a photo shoot but i'm sure Katy Perry would look good in your defender anywhere! While your at it see if Kylie's available? I did look on the link, but there was not too much info as to what was going on. Cheers Kev
  6. I'm sure the switch has to be fitted to the bottom radiator hose as opposed to the top as some instructions state? I may be corrected? Kev
  7. Hi Dod, This is interesting, I don't have a series but am keen to follow this as I grew up in Stonehaven in the 70s/80s and would like to see what it's all about? Cheers Kev
  8. £19 for OEM felt, cant remember seeing a woolies for a while though?
  9. I had to remove the glass out of frames, yes pain in the rear as whole frame to be removed( mine were out anyway as i was putting them in the side of an ambulance) I found it was the felt strip that the glass slides on had deteriated over time allowing annoying rattle and water ingress. The replacement felt strips came individually and were fairly easy to fit, re-assembled frame etc, Glass now slides smoothly with no rattles or leakage. Bit of work, but worth it Kev
  10. Mine would conk out at any level, But yes I had to drain mine on 2 occasions whilst full. I drained mine into clean/white 20ltr buckets and let settle, filtered it through some fine material and refilled it. I had to do this a few times until I found fault as I had exhausted all other suspect components. I was that frustrated I was just about to buy a new tank! If there is something in there it may not come out first time. Kev PS just remembered, once found a rag in the tank of a 200tdi 110 hi cap, It had had rear body off to carryout some chassis work and i am in belief they blocked filler neck with rag and maybe forgot about it or it fell in??? either way found that by jacking vehicle up on opposite side of filler and fishing about inside tank with a hooked length of metal rod through pick up hole! Just something to think about? Also, has it a delphi lift pump that the top cover is held by a screw? if so there should be a gauze filter in there?????
  11. Had similar probs with my 300, tried all sorts. Run well for ages and then just petter out at the most inconvienient time! Turned out to be a piece of silicone sealant in tank lifting to pick up pipe restricting fuel, after left for a while would slip back into tank until next time it decided to ruin my day. (after further investigation some clown had put sealant round rubber seal for pick up?) Not saying this is the case, but maybe blow pipes back then drain tank, I had to drain mine a few time til I got the blighter! Hope this helps but may eliminate tank side of things? Kev
  12. Just a thought, but have you checked the axle breather is clear? pressure will build up and then find easiest route out, worth a try. kev
  13. Is it cranking fast enough when hot? Have you checked for fuel at inj pipe? maybe try removing plunger from stop solenoid in pump, although you will need to stall it when it has started. Process of elimination i'm afraid, Good luck
  14. Awesome, looks like fun and the weather looks warmer than Aberdeen in June!
  15. Many thanks FridgeFreezer, thats the one! No I don't think i'll try to replicate it. As you suggest I will start a post on members vehicle forum with my ambulance, you will then see why I was interested in viewing video again????? That was a cracking / detailed account of your ambulance transformation, had clicked on it previously and new I'd seen vid somewhere. Thanks again, Kev
  16. Hi all, newby here, although I have read many posts on here I thought it time to join. I have a 1997 pulse ambulance that I bought with slight damage. I have since stripped it bare, chassis repaired, galvanised and totally rebuilt. Now ready to convert rear into camper. Converted to 12v and civilian dash fitted. Plenty of stories and pics on rebuild if anybody interested? What i'm trying to find is a video clip of an ambulance getting airboure by a few army lads larking about, they certainly did get some height! I have been shown this clip a couple of times and I am also sure it was added here when tweetyduck was/had purchased an ambulance for overland. I have searched and cant find it, not knowing how it was titled does not help. Anybody know this clip and can point me in right direction please? All the best, cheers Kev
