I have ordered a new chassis for my 90 200 Tdi from Richards in preparation for a complete refurbishment. My question is about Chassis numbers, the original chassis has a chassis number stamped on it and recorded on the V5. Do I stamp this/get Richards to stamp this on the new chassis, or does the Richards Chassis come with its own Chassis number? Or do I need to find some method of recording it and attaching it to the vehicle (small plate for example).
Presumably if the Chassis number changes I need to inform the DVLA?
