  1. Hey there, first post, hoping to get a little advice on my new to me 93 D90 200TDI. Quick backstory. I drove a KLR motorcycle from the States down to Bolivia. Here I sold my KLR and bought the Defender so my girlfriend and dog and come along. We plan on continuing down to Ushuaia and then back up to the US. I'm currently working out some problems that have developed from my drive from Brazil back here to Bolivia. On the way I ended up having two runaways (I caught them quickly, didn't rev above 3.5k) I think due to a bad cyclone adapter. Since then I'm still getting quite a lot of blowby and I'm losing a little coolant. I have decent mech experience (I put a VW TDI in my old Jeep) but no land rover experience so I'm looking for a little advice. Today I took her in to get a compression test. The results are attached in the picture. Cylinder #1 seems to be the problem child but the other 3 seem way too high. I watched them preform the test, the engine was cold and the cylinders were wiped out between tests. Does this look right? Could the higher pressure be due to coke buildup? I'm pulling the head hopefully on Monday but would like to get an idea before hand. Anything else I should be looking for? It doesn't burn oil except on start which is normal and there's no chuffing noises. You do feel a little blow by at idle from the oil cap and it definitely gets stronger as you rev. I appreciate the help. =Jason- Compression results #1 - 363 #2 - 435 #3 - 406 #4 - 391
