  1. I hope your currently in the process of starting a revival thread on the above.... regards Stephen
  2. The sticky trep which is the spare in the group of tyres I've just bought has a noticeably soft tread, reminds me of Michelin X1 tyres I used to use on my trials bike years ago. I did'nt realise how much of a difference this would make. The realisation came when I started to load tyres, I did this by rolling them up to the ball on the tow hitch and then rolled the tyre up and in, the sticky did not slip yet the other tyres did and i had to alter my position on the tyre and apply some additional pressure to wheel it into the car. I will eventually get 3 more stickys Regards Stephen
  3. He showed me the inside of the back of his van and .................................. lol Regards Stephen
  4. Won't work, angle of wheel centres will catch brake calipers, that was my first check.. Regards Stephen
  5. @dangererous doug next time your shed dwelling, see if you can get some measurements on how long the shafts need to be just I don't see any value in cutting 100mm+ spline lengths when they are not required, mainly for the diff lock shafts. Ta very much Regards Stephen

  10. Sussed it.... Don't know why I didn't think of it before !!! It occurred to me that @landroversforever is putting spacers on his wheels to sort things out. So I reckon if I put spacers on the outside that will push the wheel in.........sorted !!!! Regards Stephen
  11. well !!! If he had had a 5yr mog axle work out he would be stronger now wouldn't he.... Pretty sure my chihuahua's could manage a landrover axle........... Or a wee bolt..........lol Regards Stephen
  12. I do give myself some work............ Had a quick measure up this morning, it there present form the treps and rims are going to stick out 6" either side, increasing my carefully fabricated width by 12" in total. ........that will not do..... Tyres are going to have to come off and wheel centres removed and repositioned, I don't think I will get these as inboard as previous ones, however that doesn't really matter as they will be for off road use only do the cheeky/ taking the p%%s scale will not be required Regards Stephen
  13. Also good to meet yourself and the 101 Regards Stephen

  20. HI You dont need the remote to test, you could insert wires into the winch remote pin holes, one will be a permanent live once isolator is on, find the live and then touch one of the other two wires onto the live and providing your winch is wired up and the motor is ok you should get the winch to turn, the other wire touched onto the live will cause the winch to turn in the other direction If your test is successful then you could track down a remote lead or better still buy one of the heavy duty solenoid conversion kits and do away with the remote lead and have a couple of remote control units instead A word of caution when testing ensure nothing is able to be caught in winch drum when testing ( I would free spool cable off for testing ) as they have terrific power and can be very dangerous in the hands of an inexperienced operator ( not saying you are that though ) Hope this helps regards Stephen
  21. I agree with the big hammer approach although with some amendments Get a spreader pate to cover the area you want to knock in, also put a spreader plate on the inside as well, both spreader plates should be drilled to accept bolts that go through the cross member and plates, tighten bolts so spreader plate is pushing against the bulge, then hit with a BFH, bolts should slacken, repeat process of tightening and hitting until your happy that it has straightened out Regards Stephen
