  1. Any pointers on how to identify correct one? The below is the only pic I have of mine unmounted.
  2. My measurement from just below the fusebox on the BH to the square ridge (top corner) on the seatbox is 440mm. Tunnel is 400mm. BK to seat box are a bit far off, but cannot see what might be throwing it off...p
  3. Anyone can give measure for the the distance between the seatbox and the bulkhead?
  4. I assume you are referring for the mounting for the retrofit. I am not sure since i bought it retrofitted, but from what i see assume so. I do not follow what you exactly mean by not matching the gear lever hole. Sills are mounted correctly and seatbox too with all bolt holes matching.
  5. Any reason as to why the space between the R380 tunnel and the bulkhead? Originally a 19J engine retrofitted with 300tdi and r380. From what I can tell, seatbox was retrofitted for R380 as well. Any ideas of what i can use as a spacer so as to have bolts fitting level? Thanks.
  6. Hi all, was reconnecting the thick brown wire to my 300tdi alternator and the terminal thread where the thick brown wire goes sheared. Do I need a new alternator or can I extract the thread and replace? Thanks
  7. I underatand the thick brown/red wire need to be disconnected for a glow plug relay setup. That is clear to me. My main questions is the confusion regarding the thick white and white/black wire on connections 3 and 1. Should I leave as currently is or are there any potential issues I am not seeing? Truck used to run fine with this setup. Apologies if i was not clear in the previous posts.
  8. Any ideas as to the why it might have been connected this way?Is it a good assumption that somewhere the white/black wire is connected to the white?
  9. Thanks Steve. I am currently trying to install the glow plug timer and was aware i need to disconnect the brown/red wire. My main concern is the missing white cable on terminal 1, and a white cable (instead of white/black) on terminal 3. Any idea on this?
  10. I need some help regarding how my starter is wired. Starter is a Lucas 162SA on a 1988 Ninety converted to 300tdi. I was chasing some wires in order to connect a glow plug timer relay harness (finally delivered after order in February) and realised that my starter has the glow plug wire connection disconnected and what seem to be where the white wire should be too. From what I could find, these should be the numbered connections: 1: White 2: Brown/red 3: White/black 4: White/red 5: Brown I have connection 2 (glow plug - all this time they were disconnected) and 1 disconnected. On 3 I have a solid white wire. Can someone explain how my starter is connected? Truck used to run ok, but have not strated in some time due to ongoing refub. Thanks
  11. Could you kindly post a link here? I went through the tech archive and cannot find it.
  12. Very clear tks. Is the referenced manual available somewhere? As I could not find it doing a quick search on the net.
  13. And when fitting the relay on older vehicles, do i connect the old brown/red wire currently feeding the plugs to where the white/red tracer from ignition should go on the relay? Also, do i need to change the ignition switch?
