  1. Hello,

    It is Fred (from france)

I enjoy my Defender, it is a 110 sw.

I see you made VNT transformation on your Defender TD5.

If your are always on this forum, can you tell me the VNT garrett reference you use on your car.

IRB sell one (a lot cheaper for me), but said me is it espacially made for TD5, so i can't find it on other cars.

I see on your pictures you ...

  2. Hi all, To fit an air con on a defender taking parts from a donor vehicle, which wiring harnesses do I need I have been told that the wiring already exists in the main bulkhead harness and I only need the engine wiring harness. can someone here explain in detail what parts, harneses hoses I need to order. Since I am from malta, I want to make sure that my overseas supplier sends every last nut and bolt regards
  3. Does any one one where I can download a 2008 copy of rave and microcat?
  4. hi, i am trying to learn how to create a performance map for my td5. i have found out that i have to use programs like spi and win ols. can someone guide me please. does any one has full working versions of tuning programs with checksums and everything. if there is anyone out there please help me get on the right track regards Rodney
  5. hehe. thanks. maybe land rover should start working on a gear with 18 teeth
  6. hi guys, i will work on the write up and together with Turbocharger i will give you some figures aswell. for now i can say that yes it is purely mechanical and the ecu nedded to be modified to get torque on low revs. still needs some mods because i am expecting more power on low revs. installation is really straight forward, once you figure out the position of the turbo, its really a staight forward fit. the only thaing that i had to change is the scavanger oil return pipe. you also need to have a good engineer to make you all the flanges. i was lucky enough that i only needed a flange for the exhaust manifiold ( but i will fabricate a new manifold to reduce restrictions since the turbo has much bigger exhaust. on Tdi's you need to do a new manifold for sure. i will send pictures of my friend's 300 tdi as we fitted one on his in the same week. it only took us 1 day for firring on the td5. now i am waiting to test it on the road with the gps. i am also trying to take it at a car performance shop to get more accurate results on a rolling road. any way that's all for now, need to get back to work. all i can say that it feels more than 230 bhp for sure. regards Rodney ps if anyone is intersted in buying these kind of turbo's I have a good contact that is selling them to me at a good price. here in malta i already started a craze for them hehe. cu all soon
  7. which one should i use for 32" ,33" and 35" tyres? Thanks for the help Rodney
  8. hi guys, is it possible to program the ecu to calibrate the speedo according to the tyre size? or is there another way to calibrate the td5 speedo? regards Rodney

  11. hi there guys. is there a way that i can replace the volumetric sensor on my soft top defender with a microwave or any other sensor that triggers when there is someone in the car. on windy days the soft top does a lot of noise and continuosly triggers the alarm. can some one help?
  12. yeah that would be quite cool hehe. maybe if you know some genius that can make this a reality, please keep me posted.
  13. is there a way that I can upgrade the airflow meter of a td5? i recently had a problem with my airflow meter but my td5 was going like a rocket but it left a trial of smoke behind. it is fitted with a performance chip and an upgraded intercooler. we did an diagnostic check and the airflow meter was not functioning properly. we replaced it with a new one and it seemed that now its working properly. when i went to try it i noticed some major changes. 1. no more smoke 2. when i floor the accelerator, it takes a bit of time for the engine to kick in. then it kicks and goes like a rocket. so with a bad airflow meter acceleration was immediate, while with a new airflow meter it ttakes time to accelerate. is there a way i can upgrade the airflow meter on my td5?
  14. hi all, i have recently build a defender td5 and the donor vehicle was a 2004 110 hi-capacity. it had a county pack but since it was a high capacity it did not have rear speakers, but it had the wiring connector till the engine bay. i would not like to cut the connector and use normal sliders. if possible i would like to find a connector that fits to it. can anyone help me here? Regards Rodney
