I have a 2000 Discovery 2 back on the road since November as daily driver after farm abandonment for 6 months. Picked it up as a hobby taking mind off day job, following the loss of my Disco 1.
Near side rear section of chassis was in need of a nice plate - so cut out and make new section stitch in no problem.
The off side was weak but passed MOT and note to self find a good time to do this properly before the next one, having discovered the mare of the fuel lines design mess that Land Rover have given to us.
So this is the problem - I figured I would find a pre made section going up to the rear suspension, modify it to help the fuel lines, weld it in and replace fuel lines before they finally cut through (sleeved at the moment).
But I am met with basically a number of companies selling the same things and I can not seem to find the offside piece I want, or I am told that I have to buy a complete half chassis at three times the money I was expecting to get hold of the bit I want.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of someone who makes the piece I am after. Someone must do it as the half chassis is made up of several sections and put together.
Perhaps my thinking is too simple.
