  1. Two years ago I changed from Lumenition to 123 in my Series 2A 2.5 and the result was astounding, in terms of perceived power and driveability. A friend followed the same path on his 2.5 2A and is delighted too. A very good upgrade for a daily driver
  2. Hello all. I bought an Ashcroft Series 3 gearbox for my Series 2A some 14 years ago and has done 70k kms since then, withouth the slightest problem. I can’t be happier with it. So I got another one (ZF HP 22) for my 90 4.0 project which is about to come into life 😃 Cheers, Pedro
  3. I sent the dashboard parts and door panels to https://ruskindesign.co.uk/ The looks are good and it seems to be a solid job. We’ll see 🙂 Thanks for the pics, Mike 🙂
  4. Thank you James 🙂 We took the transfer box as the starting reference and everything seems to have come into place nicely. But now we have to fill the gap, currently the Landie looks like the Flintstones car 🤨
  5. Thanks for the answer, that’s what I had guessed but just wanted to confirm before I try to source one 🙂 Will the 200 Tdi bulkhead fit the RTC6826 Td5 diaphragm? The truck has now a Td5 seatbox, so no problems on that part, I guess
  6. Hello all 🙂 That's my question. Which is the best option? For a 4.0 with a 4HP-22 fitted with an Ashcroft console. Originally, a 200 Tdi. Thanks so much, Pedro
  7. Thanks a lot, TSD. I think I will stick with the Td5 gauge...😊
  8. Thanks a lot, Western 😊👌
  9. Thanks so much for the answers 😊😊 I´ll try both ways if I can't get somebody to fit the VDO gauge. Unfortunately I cannot find the thread Cwazy Wabbit posted above 😐. Is there any other way to search past threads in the forum?
  10. Hello all. I am close to finish my 90´s rebuild and would like to either put its speedo down to zero or, better still, find a new one that would fit in a Td5 dash (thanks, Retroanaconda) The thing is, my former 200 Tdi has now a brand "new" Turner 4.0 and so I would like to start the counter from scratch. The perfect solution would be getting a VDO Black Vision to match the other new gauges, but I am unable to find one that has the same connectors as the original Td5 item. Help to find a right new gauge or to put the Td5 one to zero would be much appreciated :):) Pedro
  11. Hello, I need a picture of the connectors in the back of a Defender Td5 speedo gauge. Anyone with dismounted unit nearby? Thanks so much, Pedro
  12. I can´t agree more 😡
  13. Totally agree with Naks. In 2019-2020 I bought a lot of things from them. Most were good items, happy with them. But when I tried to fix their Led door handles and Aluminum side mirror arms with leds (both really expensive parts) it soon became clear that the design was totally wrong. Impossible to fit. When I complained to Gareth W. I just did´t get any answer (he had been very helpful until then). Those items were straight to the bin. A shame.
  14. The plates are from Jaen, in Andalusia, Southern Spain and far away from the sea. Very dry place and not cold in the winter. If the Defender has spent its life there, the odds are it is totally rust-free
  15. Amazing, Eightpot! 🙂🙂 I´ll try to modify it, because I´ve already bought it. That´s how I know it´s way too long 🙄 Just in case, which is the reference for a 3.9 pump? Fridge Freezer, would a universal pump go fine with the ECU?
  16. Mo: Right, the reason for having named the Puma "Td4" is because here in Spain we always name so any post-Td5 Defender, I don´t know why. FF: It is a GEMS engine. So I guess the best way to go would be to adapt the new pump, ESR3928 Thanks Retroanaconda and Eightpot for your answers. BTW, next task will be swapping the Tdi dash to Td5 style,, wonderful mod 😉🙂
  17. A Defender Puma one. The tank came from that vehicle, so... 🙄 Really puzzles me that the tanks of some 90s post-Tdi might be different. But I can´t think of any other explanation. Or maybe only NAS & 50 Ann´s are different? What do people usually do pump wise when swapping from 90 Td5 to V8??
  18. Thanks so much for your answer, Bowie. Shortening the pump may be the only solution, although I am really not sure how to do it Anybody knows if I could use a Td4 pump for fueling a 4.0??
  19. Hello all. As part of my 90´s conversion from 200 Tdi to 4.0, we removed the original undersea fuel tank and fitted another in the back, from a 90 Td4. The problem is that the proper fuel pump for a Defender 4.0, ESR3928, is way too long for that tank, maybe 4 inches in excess. I thought that the tanks for NAS, 50 Ann, Td5 and Td4 would be all about the same. But this not seems to be the case Any advise on this? Can I fit another pump without affecting the petrol output and the ECU readings? Can the pump just be shortened in some way? Changing the tank would be a nightmare, now that everything´s already in its place underneath the vehicle Thanks in advance
  20. Just in case you refer to YOO5098LOY (dark granite) https://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/138067/0/fastener
  21. I had one in the Td4 I owned some years ago. Imported it from South Africa, maybe it was a Front Runner. A bitch to install, but really great stuff. Well protected with a metal plate underneath, and you could almost forget about jerries when traveling in Africa. A great mod for overlanding 110s :):)
  22. Sorry!! You are right, I made a mistake :( The right number is MRC7411
