I know this is an old thread, but, just in case anyone is interested, here's what I believe to be the Boreggo yellow story for Freelanders.
The LR marketing boys decided to produce a limited run of Kalahari G4 Editions - 200 of each in Borrego Yellow and Tangiers Orange. The first to fill the order books would be the colour used in the forthcoming G4 Challenge. Understandably, Tangiers Orange won the day, as it is synonomous with the event. Anyway. my brother had 2 03 plate F1s in Borrego and both have been certified by the G4 Owners club. There is also, I believe one kicking about in Girvan. He sold one and passed the other to me. This means that 3 of the remaining 7 (Borregos) that are believed to still be on the road are up in Scotland.
Attached are some pics of mine with the G4 Edition livery. Be warned - the lacquer seems to peel off of this colour for fun!
