  1. How easy is timing to sort? I might be able to get hold of a strobe.
  2. Right im going with mechanical then as i can see anything that woild suggest an add on. Never played about with a carb before. So this could be interesting.. I know the timing os a little off so might get that sorted, then look onto the carb..
  3. Choke looks to be, thr the plate is vertical if I take the air intake hose off to look, can see the jet of fuel when I rev too. Not had carb off or checked float, carb was replaced by previous owner, unsure if they just put it on or did any kind of setup with it. Unsure if pump is electric, not looked into that and unsure what im looking at to be honest, will have to check manuals to know.
  4. The smell and smoke out the rear end... Oh, and thecsoark plugs are black dry and sooty
  5. Yeah choke pulls fine. So possibly the float but I don't know what im looking at so wouldn't be able to say yes or no to that.. Trying to get stuff I can sensibly do myself done
  6. Right so the truck is back together as sounds brilliant, starts better than before but is still over fueling. Im unsure if my carb is doing anything when I play with the mixture screw, what else (apart from timing maybe) would cause it to over fuel?
  7. You've definitely said it in a thread recently as I have read it
  8. All back together now. Used well seal on the gaskets but thinking that was a bad idea as I think when it heats up its starting to smoke a bit, its not exhaust fumes as its not instant from start up.
  9. New exhaust gasket bought, new studs all round too. And inlet manifold cleaned up
  10. New exhauat manifold is waiting at home for me, so know my weekend jobs now..
  11. My 2a is def a ball and socket, so the flange will never meet and go flush.
  12. Was thinking of something like this. Will add it to the list... Unfortunately one stud decided it did not want to come out, snaped twice after heating / cooling etc, then wouldn't drill out at all. New manifold luckily osnt a massive expense. So will have that by the weekend I hope
  13. Well that went wrong... New exhaust manifold it is haha. Ahwell I tried....
  14. Mates got a pit so might be worth rolling it over that
  15. Haha true damn annoying as its filthy under there.. Almost need to jack it uo and pressure wash it...
  16. Just put the new exhaust brackets on and noticed a bit of oil on the below, is there a seal for this or could it coming from somewhere else the dripping off this?
  17. What im trying as I type.. One out.
  18. Ah cock... In a word.. As i am not a welder.
  19. Soaked them for a while and they still won't move. Anyone got any magical ways of removing these, they're rusted out and taking the nuts off when removing the exhaust has damaged the thread.
  20. Got it all Off using a paint scraper. And new one now on and sump back on.
  21. Today was able to fot the new sump seal, rocker cover gasket, new oil filter, new fuel sender and new spark plugs. The old fuel sender had rusted solid.. Guess the tank got left open or empty and water got in..
  22. Just have to get the old seal/gasket off..
  23. Already have the washer and new gasket.. Its still off at the moment, rear crankshadt seal needs replacing
  24. Its off and used an impacted, was going to get a flogging spanner, but gently teased off with impact
