or maybee , they engineerd a single thicker plate , and used these when the 2 thinner plate's were used up on the production line ....
-
found this topic searching for info on this exact topic : rebuilding a 1984 LHD axle , and found 2 retaining plate's on both side's , and of course the gasket (FRC4206).
i looked in my old parts manual RTC9863CE (land rover one ten , covering vehicles up to august 1986) , and i found only 1 plate per side (FRC4142) .
the manual has a release date of october 1989 , so if the factory removed 1 plate in lets say 1988 , and found this to seal equely wel as 2 , why do you find 2 plate's on cars manufactured years later .....(as in the original posters question)

thanks for fixing 🙂

the calipers are brand new , and as far as i know listed for solid disk's up to 1986 (from the bearmach website) ,
if you look at this link : https://www.paddockspares.com/front-brake-caliper-reconditioned-110-130-rh-to-1986.html it even has a marker to point out the smaller pin size.
i have a box of lucas front brake pads , but there are no pins in there....
maybee i just need split pins for these calipers ...
-
hello all ,
does anybody know the partnumber for the smaller diameter pad retention pins as used on older (1986) front solid disc calipers (the disc is AEU2537) , i ordered the set RTC5001 , but these pins are to thick .
thanks for your help.

There is also a consideration to be had in the fact that the shaft is collapsible for a reason.
i know , i'm not to happy with this modification ....it was on the car when i bought it ...

on my 110 LHD , they removed the collapsible joint , and fitted a straight shaft .
if you want i can make some pictures tomorrow

connection 4 should go on the "ignition" position of your ignition switch (+ 12 volt when switch is in the normal "engine is running" position)
-
my 110 is out off phase on the front axle , you have to clock the driveshaft for being out off phase (there are 2 arrows on the driveshaft that need to align, i think there's 45 degrees between flanges) you can do the same with your rear drive shaft .
undo the rear drive shaft , pull out the flange and put it back 1 spline apart from what it was , do a testdrive and adjust further if need be, i bet that solves the problem .
see this old posting :

I saw that too but it states it fits the defender 2.4 tdci. My 19J is 4 generations behind that engine. I don't think it is the right part.
just scroll down 🙂

hello all ,
a friend of mine has a 300tdi 110 , and had me look at a failing power steering . no oil movement in the reservoir so i suspected a faulty pump .
removed the pump , and while waiting for a replacement i openend up the pump , turns out the shaft is broken in half ....
is this a common fault on these pumps ? ar do ik need to investigate further ?

Do you need a decent cover the for the chest? I have a spare you are welcome to, along with a 200tdi air box
if Gazzer doesn't need the airbox , i have a good place for it (does it included the clips for mounting to the inner fender ?)

sounds to me the starter motor is on it's way out

hello all ,
i'm looking for some explanation about a LT77 gearboxnumber , the "normal" numbering is something like : 50a000999D
but i have a ex mod 110 with a number that's like : 50ARB55934
then i have a scrap ex french 110 with a ,acording to the data plate "original Landrover exchange gearbox" and this also has the 50ARB number .
the 50ARB..... number is stamped over the original gearboxnumber
is this numbering just a sequence used bij landrover to identifie a factory rebuilt ? if so , how do you know what suffic letter the box is ?
