  1. Nice, especially if the software is patented. "Hi, you caught me, can I see the source code please? Oh, it's patented and you can't, shame, cya then!"
  2. A friend as fiesta XR2 seats fitted, I find these a PITA to use, I end up with the top of the windscreen on my LOS but he is a shortarse so it's about right for him. I have some weird seats in my current Series, not sure what they're from or how good they are.
  3. I'm actually in the process of doing this, pictures in the members vehicle section. I'm using the standard box and a 3.9 EFI engine coupled to RR diffs. Mainly as this is what I had available to me.
  4. Sorry to hear that mate, I hate to think of anyone taking one of my cars Hope they catch the thieving scum.
  5. My father has a 1949 Daimler with the fluid-flywheel preselect gearbox. The gearbox is extremely heavy to lift but it's interesting to drive, very smooth.
  6. I've fitted paddock para's to my build, can't let you know how they behave till it's actualy finished though
  7. Do you have any photos of this? It sounds a lot like the outcome I'm looking for!
  8. I'm going to look at modifying the rear tub to give more space on my 88 as I build, not sure how yet!
  9. Is there a difference between Series 3 / Defender front door hinges? Or, perhaps a better question, are these likely to fit my Series 3... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=360125388003 Cheers
  10. Of course all the people with uninsured motors make sure that their V5 is up to date and points to the correct owner information
  11. you probably want to fit extended bump stops too, stop the spring from going back on itself. I would have thought, on a SWB, you'd be close to the limits for the rear propshaft with that kind of lift.
  12. That looks amazing. I just bought 3L of Satin Black to spray my S3 with.

    Oops!

    I also managed to roll a RRC, albeit on a quite country lane on Xmas eve;
  14. Well, I just picked up 3L of colour for my Series rebuild from a local motor factors. I'm planning on spraying it though. My usual method is a good flat back with some wet-n-dry and then flash over with a primer-builder, fine wet-n-dry back and spray paint. Works for me on the last few I've painted.
  15. Is there a difference between Discovery 1 300 and Disco II sunroof?

    Oops!

That sucks mate, I hope they catch the guy who cut you up. I rolled my Range Rover just over a year ago, it does become OK again in the end. Atleast everyone was relativley OK.
  17. Perhaps, but is that a bad thing? XKCD is quality, it forms part of my google home page
  18. got any pics of how you did this mod? I'm doing a V8 into series conversion too, was considering posting up some photos. I think I have a pump someplace so it might be a good alternative to fitting an expensive seperate pump
  19. Hopefully the bulkhead, posibly the engine/gear box!
  20. Cheers for all the replies, I will probably end up spraying it beluga back and fitting some black wheels although some of the other colours look interesting. That Nato green isn't too bad either. Nice motor, any more pics or info?
  21. So, I have reached a stage in the build where I need to start thinking about paint colour. I really can't decide what colour to do it in though. It's going to be a SWB V8 with canvas top. I had considered black, yellow, bright blue or matt-black. Thought please
  22. Well, having examined things a bit closer it seems that the flywheel I had was skimmed to half its original width, so I used a spare one I had lying about. Had to mark and drill this. I will most likely end up grinding the end of the crank and using the spigot supplied. The engine is not destined for anything else and, after a bit of measuring, it seems like a bush inside the V8 crank wouldn't be very big. Incidently, my gearbox shaft fits inside the V8 crank with a bit of room to spare.
