  1. Job done, another 1 ticked off the 100. Oil filter spanner (you know the 3 prong steel type) off with it's head and on with the new. I let the pump prime. I replaced the front brake lines and pulled about 3 litres of fluid through the callipers so I think it's a wrap. Quite happy with it, nice pedal. Oh and new O/S/R wheel hub done. not messing about pressing bearings. Many thanks Forum.👍👍 Vodka to celebrate.
  2. Yeah you're right guys, better do it properly.
  3. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-P38-ABS-Brake-Accumulator-/384761805243?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 What's your thoughts?
  4. All sensors have been replaced and a session on testbook has transformed my car. Instantly MPG went up to 16 from 10 and I think it's still on the up. Turners Garage in Apsley did a great job with other bits as well the diagnostic. The car is a real joy to drive now, beautiful idle and a lot more responsive (as much as a P38 can be). Things for the future....... in summer it will have a new camshaft and timing gear, maybe then the cosmetics. Definitely getting the front seats trimmed and the roof lining but its not gunna be a restore project. It can wear it's scruffy bodywork with pride.
  5. So what's the verdict? Is you'r heating piping now?
  6. I can weld in a fashion but have no gear to do it and only a driveway so It'll be fair weather welding only. 🤣 Don't know how manymore winters the RRC would surrvive a she is.
  7. I haven't tested positive but the rest of the house have, don't know how this works but I would put money on me getting it V soon. So...... if I can't go anywhere I think I'll tear into some of the big jobs on the 4.0 GEMS . Damp, yes she's very wet! Boot seal will not fit properly and pulls away every time I shut the bottom tailgate then fills up with water as it seems to for a bloody great funnel shape into the wheel well. New TPS, IACV and O2's. Horrible idle and the poorest MPG (down to 10 now) on both fuel but I think i'm to blame as I tried to clean them. I bought proper TPS cleaner but as you guys will already know there is nowhere to put it, is there? Seale unit as far as I can see, the IACV was cleaned with the MAF cleaner I bought which just knackered it. I was running poorly to start now won't fire at all. As I've read here the IACV can stop the engine. Bushes, all of them from Britpart...... BLACK poly ones. Rust...... There is'n a lot but I have hydrate 80, flap wheels and paint so I may, on a dry day, give her a dig poke and paint. I know they don't dissolve like RRC but she is showing signs around the boot area. Could do with someone who has Nancom in the Leighton Buzzard area to clear out the computers when done. Well, in morning I'll dig in...... wish me luck and any advice would be greatly appreciated. 👌👍
  8. He still has to come out and see it yet but that was his idea from pics via email.
  9. My windscreen frame is rotten. I Have a good used pair of a's and the top. A and B post bottoms which most likely means sills. Footwells obviously Lower bulkhead body mounts Front inner arches That's including parts, no good? This is for the RRC not the P38, the P38 is literally rust free all over. Just has 4.0 GEMS issues.
  10. I haven't posted for a while and I know that's not good, I was a member of the 7series register and I know how frustrating it is having blank members. I have been in and out researching and reading the posts here and I have gathered a lot of info for which I'm grateful for, but I have done myself another mischief as my old P38 has returned! I sold it in 2019 and regretted it immediately. I thought the RRC would fill the void but it didn't. My girlfriend was sick of my moaning and after 2 years or searching and bothering she bought it back for me and it was sat on my drive, with a bow around it on the eve of 3rd Nov. It's 1 thing someone buying you a car but getting a cherished..... dare I say loved 1 back is a different story. So the plan is now to put the RRC into Richard at Church House Classics. He's quoted me for the best part of 4k worth of welding which is a lot but she's my baby and I want her perfect. As for the P38...... well it's been abused over the last 2 years and she's ill. Lumpy idle with a 10 MPG average and the fuse 20 blown!😒 I have all suspension components in the shed and I've made great progress with general servicing. I'm going to need help with electric gremlins I think. I'd like to meet up with you guys and help in anyway I can Again thanks for the resource, your a huge help. Sam and the poorly P38
  11. My name is Sam and in November I bought my second RRC. I really hope to bring her up, not sell her like the last one. I also had a 110 TD5 which I regret selling after spending thousands on.😪 The car is well sad at the moment but not a complete basket case. The springs are too firm, theres a fuel leak which developed today and it revs so fast at idle. These need sorting ASAP. The rest is easily fixed like interior trim missing/broken and obviously the saggy headliner. I hope with a bit of help from you guys we can bring her up to scratch.
