My 2000 Disco TD5 decided to not start,Hawkeye showed nothing that should cause a non start so we did the following,
1.Complete replacement of all likely fuel problems,eg.pump filters etc
2.Checked all electrical components without finding a fault
3.Replaced crank sender and found no signal to hawkeye, checked continuity on wire from sender to ecu,OK
4.Decided to try another ecu and still had no reading from crank sender when cranking.
5.The starter was turning over as normal but noticed that the main battery earth lead was fraid at the body earth tab.Replaced the complete lead to the engine
and switched on,turned it over and an instant start!!!!
Thought someone may be glad of this information before they tear their hair out as I did.
