  1. I have a similar problem on my 200. The wipers only park on intermittant. I've not bothered to look at it yet - but would be interested in a solution
  2. We opted to go to Nash Oakland Wild Camping. Thirteen of us all socially distanced. No noise but what we maid. Clean river to swim in, couple of lanes close by, far too much cider and far too much food. All for £10 a head per night. Fantastic
  3. I'm only allowed a pass once a month - if I am lucky
  4. Sweet winch - I've seen one before - just trying to remember where
  5. I was unable to get a pass, as I was away for a few days over the weekend, at the most excellent Nash Oakland Farm. Four days of drinking cider, eating huge quantities of meat, swimming in the river and generally having excellent socially distanced fun with friends
  6. I hear what you are saying, but in general a Discovery 1 doesn't have the best brakes. I have also replaced everything in mine and have braided steel hoses. I uses EBC pads (standard) as they seem to run cooler and I can lock up all four wheels if I stamp on the brakes, but like most land rover vehicles upto the late 90's . it's not brilliant. My RRC was similar. my 110 suffered terribly form brake fade - all had re-built systems
  7. It does depend on how long the bolt is out , but packing it with washers can help - or a peice of tube
  8. Do you have wider offset wheel on the vehicle?
  9. To push the bolt out so it's tightening on a different place on the threads
  10. I was looking at some stainless steel guttering on a couple of new houses down the road.... It's 80mm and has nice bends and stuff...only held on by cross head screws
  11. It's a two part seal. The big bit is MWC8304 and Britpart do a reasonable version Then there is the finisher strip which is DCB101510 but is better to buy from a classic car specialist in a big strip, because I think you need four DCB101510
  12. 'Nige Built' - the Chuck Norris of diffs
  13. Okay, no worries - it's on all the 200 series and some 300.. Have you checked the vacuum pump is producing enough vacuum?
  14. What is the thread sze of the oil pressure switch on a 2.25 petrol?
  15. If the fuel pump is on it's way out - often caused by a partially blocked fuel filter, it can struggle to acheieve the 4 bar required at the engine to actually make the vehicle run. Check the pump Check the fuel regualtor is actually getting a minimum of 4 bar
  16. The HVAC system has a vacuum operated flap to control air form outside/air form insdie - it has a small pipe off shooting form the main vacuum pipe - reove it and block the outlet - see if that makes a difference
  17. I resigned all my positions in Glass at the start of this year - at the same time as a number of other reps also left. I joined a small national group of non political social laners and have been very happy to have left the strees behind - it was ruining my hobby. I no longer organise trips or pester/assist the local authorities; although I am still chair of the county Land Access Forum, a role I enjoy and am looking forward to having another motorised user on the forum - that will make 2, out of 16, including me! My last year with Glass was spent primarily assisting the County WIldlife Officers to catch culprits who were missuing the RoW network, which was actually part of the reason I resigned.
  18. Green laning is, sadly a lost cause. With Glass suffering from in house politics and losing the way, all that's left is the smaller clubs and groups; a fair portion of which are numpties with special tracks, who give not two hoots if a route is legal or not. Council budgest are less, the most powerful antis - Ramblers and the Horsey folk are crucifying the few area reps left, willing to stand up for the rights of the few. Clubs can't band together and follwo one path. LARA have lost their way and rely on the TRF and Glass to do the steering - no always successful... And finally the De-Reg bill coming in soon (maybe 2026, may not), which will give Councils the chance to save pennies by either closing all the lanes, or opening them all up. Oh well
  19. Have you checked for a seized piston on the calipers? It's a regular problem. Also, check the vacuum pump.. Disco 1 brakes are never brilliant - more adequate
  20. Disco Vogue three spokes are a-33mm offset, same as disco steels. If you go wider you will be in danger of connecting the rim with the arces on articulation. The Insa's are a 'big' tyre for the size - just adjust the lock stops a snadge
  21. Sadly Glass dug themselves a huge stinking pit of poo with this one - that's the final copy of the press release, but previous released copies were still publicised... One bit they missed out and had to add to hide possible legal issues was "and on the request of GLASS will include members of other organisations who were not present during the preceding years of discussions but purport to be responsible users and operate under a code of responsible usage" Such a shame that a once great organisation has fallen so far. But that's politics and only really for the pub. The whole thing isn't actually confirmed yet as the situation is under appeal from other vehicular user groups The Discovery in the article was being driven without insurance and the owner already had one Section 59 against him. There was concern as to the road worthiness of the vehicle as there is no way it would have passed an MOT emmisions test
