  1. just had mine out, the plastic type the guys have mentioned above aren't the best for getting these out. i used trim pliers. so much easier especially on door cards. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trim-Clip-Removal-Pliers-Car-Van-Door-Panel-Fascia-Dash-Upholstery-Remover-Tool/264542098279?hash=item3d97f01367:g:rQQAAOSw-E5ePBwn
  2. i have a 2005 110 xs. tc and abs light should come on with ignition, tc light will go out when you start the engine abs will go out after you reach 5mph. mine was bodged when i brought it. only found out as the handbrake light didn't work, some tosser had taken the dash out and put tape over the lights. complete rebuilt modulator with lifetime guarantee is £600.
  3. best place for all diagrams, electrical etc. https://www.lrworkshop.com/
  4. i would go lof and go there heavy duty kit with the solid flywheel conversion. very help full on the phone if you give them a ring. just about to do mine, will also fit there slave cylinder at the same time.
  5. Looks like its ganna be a first time land rover gearbox strip....
  6. looks some video watching tonight with a friday pint... thanks
  7. used tiger bond to isolate the door skins and frame when i rebuilt the doors.
  8. had similar on my td5, changed home switch on motor, relay etc. no better, re-replaced the the park switch with an original from LR and worked fine.
  9. at some point in the near future i'm going to have to fit a heavy duty clutch. so whilst the gearbox is out thought if possible would look at 1 - 2 syncro as not good at changing at high revs. before we start i know all about double clutching etc. just niggle i would like to fix. anybody stripped there gearbox R380. is it possible to change the just the 1 -2 syncro with out a complete strip down? many thanks
  10. Sand in England.... best i get is a stoney beach on the south coast. lol
  11. thanks, already have extra large poly bump stops all round. and yes wider arches are in the plan.
  12. had a big drop on 110 pick up, front around 2.5" difference. turned out the front springs had softened up and dropped making it look worse. new springs all round now pretty much level. (medium springs not heavy duty)
  13. when i did mine there are 2 wiring diagrams. UK and US both use different pins for some reason.
  14. ebay do them as well, brought them off there last time.
  15. just looked at terrafirma beed lock wheel. they recon upto a 12" wide wheel on 7 inch rim more if you use the bead lock set up. seems a lot of excess tyre..... would have thought 10" wheel would be more suitable??
  16. Fancy big. Was originally looking 37 but they seem to bring all sorts of other problems.
  17. Every seems to come up 12.5 so quite wide on the rims. Gear train etc is standard. It’s td5 with around 200bhp. regards budget. Not bottomless but would rather buy something right rather than a it’ll do.
  18. Just fitted the 2” mini dislocation kit with medium springs. Rides really well on the road. Won’t get it off road till next wk end.
  19. question for the guys who are running 35" tyres. looking at the next project for the defender. probably go with the challenger 16 x 10 wheels. firstly. what is the general consensus for a good tyre for road and mud (not heavy mud plugging, just farmers fields etc)i use cooper sst at present and have no complaints. l'll also extend the arches, will go for the spectre type 160mm. secondly what off sets you guys running to push the wheel out to give plenty of clearance for turning. ta (PS before anyone jumps in, its lifted 2" already) PS it is already lifted 2". thanks
  20. i would say a wire on the green box has been disturbed or a ground. have you replaced the hazard switch as had all sorts of problems when fitting all new switches on a 2001 defender and mud console / switches. did the garages check voltage drop etc when doors were open / closed.
  21. Hi all. i have a pdf copy of the defender my2002 workshop manual. (had a 2001 defender). i now have a 2005 defender. i now most will say it makes to difference as all the same BUT i would like to get a copy of the 2006my manual in pdf. any body got any links if its available. thanks
  22. just to follow on. it has now had the snap on diagnostic tool on it. still no faults shown, wheel speeds /voltages on all sensors good. Earths all checked, power all checked but still abs and brake warning light but abs seems to work when road testing. light does flicker now and again.
  23. had to fit a new abs pump module form ecutesting as mine was shot when i brought the landy. fitted it and all worked for a few weeks. all the usual lights reappeared. now turns out there is only 3vdc from the wabco ecu to the pump relay.. got a new wabco ecu fitted srd000110. nancom now runs all tests ok, drive test shows abs is working as you can feel the pedal pumping. BUT the handbrake light dosen't go out, abs light stays on TC light goes out but sometimes comes back on. With lights on, Nanocam still says no faults.
