  1. Wow, love to know what you get for 12k, may as well buy another Land Rover for that sort of money
  2. Prices are better for Land Rovers than they used to be and I've had Mitsubishis, Nissans and even Fords and none of them have compared to a good well maintained Landy. I don't mind spending money on it, if it benefits me and my work, I certainly don't see myself getting rid of it. Yeah, I'm aware I'm not going to be a small job and would probably be cheaper if I did the strip down. But it's used daily for my business and I can't not have it for weeks on end.
  3. Hi Steve, respray a different colour, I'm thinking spray it to look like a stage 1, with an off white (not sure of the name of the paint) on the cab and the rest of the body in Epsom Green preferably in 2k. Hadn't thought about inner wings 🤔 Where in Mid-Suffolk are you?
  4. Bought my 110 HCPU 4 years a go and the guy i purchased it from had given it a fairly poor spray job and now the paint is all peeling off. Had a mate respray a pair of new doors and he did a good job even though the colour matching wasn't quite right but not sure he can cope with a full strip down and respray. From looking at past forum topics and on other forums ÂŁ4-6K 3 years ago would of seem to be about right, but now as I'm sure your all aware everything is a lot more expensive. Anyone got any idea what an up to date pricing for a full body off (including bulkhead) professional respray would cost? I'm based just outside of Ipswich in Suffolk if anyone can recommend a good bodyshop also?
  5. Made the decision to swap my wings for tubular ones and going with the “standard” shape versions. Seen lots of finished pictures of the Whitbread and North Offroad standard wings fitted to trucks but none of the P&P standard ones. Contacted Kim at P&P for pictures but they only have ones off the vehicle or part way through fitting. I’ve checked through loads of the build threads on here but so far other than a brief mention, no photos. Has anyone fitted these and got pictures of the finished job?
  6. Thanks Mike. Hope your able to get out and enjoy that incredible machine.
  7. Thankyou for sharing, I bet she’s a beast. For the front set up how do you go about with the links not hitting sump or the manifolds?
  8. Your right, once you get through to the checkout no tax is added. On a separate note have you any experience with a duel triangulated 4 link system?
  9. US Taxes i.e like our VAT. Thanks I’ll take a look.
  10. Great video. Very interesting. Definitely got me thinking. He used some seriously heavy duty stuff on that discovery. It’ll be a beast. Checked out Barnes 4x4 website. Shame we don’t have anyone in the UK like that. I think the import costs would make it unrealistic. Hell maybe having closer links with the US would be good but that’s probably a topic for another forum topic!
  11. Just looked at both the RAC and 4xForce options and correct me if I’m wrong neither look heavy duty enough to handle a day’s trialling. Unless their made of something stronger than the existing radius arms and even they bend. Can you post any pictures of your setup or are they “trade” secrets?
  12. Spoke to our clerk of the course for our club and he didn’t see any issues with it. Can you recommend a setup for either a 3 or 1 front link?
  13. Yes a wide angle GL A frame. Currently using Old Man Emu +5.5 shocks. Not sure how much longer shocks I can use without falling foul of other issues. I suppose what your saying is that I have a good enough setup as it is for the truck. I’m certainly not looking any further than club level trials but would like to mix it up and keep it interesting.
  14. Would using Johnny joints on all links aid to better flexing?
  15. The radius arms have been adjusted by Gwyn Lewis for camber correction etc. The rear is as it was just with the watts linkage removed and again Gwyn Lewis trailing arms.
  16. It’s a Tomcat 80 on a cut down disco 2 chassis. I’ve already got a mostly Gwyn Lewis set up. Don’t get me wrong it’s an already capable truck but was just looking at something different, and also to wind my fellow club members up with! Will have a look at front setups but always thought they were mainly used on bigger vehicles but since your first post I see the Jeep boys have been using them for years. Do you compete?
  17. I was only thinking doing the rear to start off with and like you say not sure with such a small chassis I’d be able to fit a front setup. Why do you think it won’t be better than the standard setup especially a lot of the “challenge” boys and nearly all Ultra 4 use a a 4 link rear end?
  18. Hi Guys, Anyone had or known of anyone 4 linking their 80” Trialler for CCV? I know ALRC frown against that sort of modification but not every club is so strict especially AWDC affiliated.
