  1. Hi, quite new to this site but I'm wondering if someone can help me with an issue with snapped bolts on my Freelander 1 TD4 air intake manifold. Whilst installing the thermostat mod in the top radiator hose two of the intake manifold bolts have snapped ,one whilst undoing and the other (my fault) by over tightening. I've managed to remove the bolts in the engine but no idea how to remove the broken bolts from the manifold as it seems they have some type of heel attached which I presume is an anti loose type of protection. I have a donor manifold which is cracked but again not sure how to remove the bolts.....any ideas?
  2. Got the same problem with my TD4 dangerously flat until it eventually gets to 2200rpm. Unplugged the maf and its much better. Changed the maf for one from a supplier and it was worse. Took it to a garage who said I had bought a cheap maf at £52.00 and that was the problem. He then fitted another maf but this only made it slightly better but still not right. Just found out he didn't install a bosch maf so wondering if this is the problem?
  3. Hi, after some advice from experienced Freelander owners. I have an issue with a light grinding sound from under the car when at very low speeds. And also a noisy winny sound from rear but only after I hit 70mph. I've replaced the Vcu and mounts but the noise is still there. I did drive it with the prop removed when fitting the VCU and the noise went. Could this be the diff or IRD? Thanks for looking.
