  1. Hi All, Final update on this one, I wrote a lengthy complaint letter to Land Rover, they picked it up and have arranged 50% (£944.00) refund from LR main dealer. final question, on a 2015 Defender Adventure model, are the bearings sealed or should I have them greased? Many thanks John
  2. Please see attached part numbers / costs. thanks for the advice.
  3. That was Barrett’s Land Rover Dealer in Canterbury.
  4. So labour £480 , new bearing, axle, hub etc all plus vat. photos attached.
  5. Hi All, just to close this one off, eventually had the car repatriated to Landy dealer in UK - hub had seized. Not sure if that is a common thing? No explanation as to why / how it happened, just parts fail! Anyhow bill was over £1800 to repair, new seals, hub, wheel bearing and axle. Appreciate any final thoughts / comments. Cheers john
  6. Hi All, I’ll update tomorrow with the cost breakdown. Steep I know - only upside is it was cheaper than the £3k they were quoting in France! Cheers john

  8. Thanks all, ill know more tomorrow so will update in the afternoon. cheers JT
  9. Thanks, garage is saying besides wheel bearing, the hub also needs replacing - any ball park ideas on what I’d be looking at for parts and work? Thanks JT
  10. Hi All, thanks for feedback. We tried every main dealer in local Northern France but no one could look at it until August, RAC assistance co took it to a Ford garage yesterday where it sits and wheel being removed as we speak. As soon as we have any more news I will post it - vehicle was brand new from main dealer, not off roaded at all. Thanks JT
  11. Hi All, garage investigating at the moment - early diagnostic is it was indeed the wheel bearing - I’ll update once they have a proper look. Question, is it normal these can fail after only 4 years? thanks again for all your suggestions. JT
  12. Many thanks for the thoughts and suggestions everyone - much appreciated. I’ll update once it’s been checked over. Best regards JT
  13. Not sure if what happened caused me to swerve side to side a bit as was travelling on motorway when had this sudden jolt and Landy was fully loaded so was rolling a bit left and right till I could slow it down. Once I tried to drive off again there was a shudder feeling so had to stop.
  14. Thanks for the feedback all, TBH, it’s not been off road, only 24,000 miles and 2015/16 Reg from new - I’m in France at the moment so have booked it in to Land Rover specialist dealer to take a look. cheers JT
