It's a shame Arnie never came back. I was interested in this build, very different from others on here.

    Hello Boys.

I never disappeared. The beast was away for over a year. I only just got it back.

So of-course, the news and changes you are well waiting for. Well, well over a small fortune as gone into making the modifications that I believed I wanted, needed or completely did not need and where excessive lol!

There's a lot missing from this list because I'm in the process of designing a concept as i've received offers to buy this from all directors. I'll be scoping up the concept and cost and providing the build list to my mechanics for a second build.

I'm in need of a good chevy engine mechanic who can turn around quickly as the SBC 90 needs some attention, the leaks have got substantially worse.  It's a 1983' GM short block.

Still ironing out the little niggles here and there but its 99% where I want it to be.  The sound system can be heard from 1.2 miles away with great clarity, the sound does not get distorted.

The next mini project for the Assassin 90:
    1. mod for external speakers to be connected for the beach party you are all invited to this summer!

    2. SBC engine maintenance (either just new gaskets or a full rebuild because I only get 70mph at redline (I don't have a rev counter so I can't factually say it's maxed but top speed is 71-72, I need at least 95.

While I approve of the general silliness of it I can't bring myself to like the Chelsea tractor / chequebook aspect, but you do you.

Given that money clearly isn't an issue why not a more modern LS and do away with the clockwork?

I actually don't like the khan or chelsea truck designs. They seem cheap and without character (aggressive) for me. Trying to be hard but not hard.
This does look different to me, maybe it doesn't to others?

Thinking of the LS3 next year, but then everyone is getting an LS3, maybe something else like LS7/8? I wanted to get rid of the manual for a TH350 on the current engine, but I'm actually really liking the stick. It's not heavy for me I have huge feet like godzilla

    Cracked while launching......?

So, what's the projected BHP, with and without NOS/supercharger?

I am quite sure many people on here will dislike this truck, but I for one think it is pretty cool. Mind you, you haven't shown the interior yet, it might be all vajazzled!

Yeah I wanted to do something different! I think it's around 350 BHP, but I have not put it on the dyno just yet. It's without NOS and supercharger but the NOS kit is here. The supercharger will probably blow the engine with stock parts.

The interior is standard original V8. The only change is a carbon momo wheel.... that will be changing very soon 🤪

Absolutely - but a 4.6 V8 is a very different thing to a 350ci lump of iron, you'll be able to lug it along in any gear and the engine won't care at all but the gearbox will be being twisted in half.

It's been bellhoused directly onto the engine. Not sure if that makes a difference but the gearbox hasn't had any issues and its been thrashed about in the mountains of europe

I will second this and am not aware of any new regulations for the UK or London

Awesome looking 90 though, can we have some more pictures please? What have you got under the bonnet? And which country is it from?

As noted below, they have the POR marking, which I don't think is specifically road legal right?

I'll get some more. There's a chevy V8 engine with NOS, something very special but isnt finished. Made in the UK but was in Europe for a bit, just brought it back into the uK.

I seem to recall the "Professional Off-Road" classification was introduced to allow specialised tyres to still be sold, even if the manufacturers can't be bothered to do the testing necessary for the EU classification (the letters for noise, economy etc). Which could mean they are considered illegal for use on public roads.

This is what I was assuming.

  8. Hey Fellow LR owners,

I'm currently running rims (16x10) on 305/70/16R Nitto Mud Grappler Tyres (33 inch)

They are off-road and i'm trying to get the closest alternative which is road legal as I drive in London and don't want to risk getting 3 points for each tyre.

Current Alternative for same rims: ST PRO COOPER or the BFgoodrich KM3 only do these sizes but they are again, also offroad. They are less aggressive than the Nitto Mud Grapplers so I might raise less attention.

Changing Rim Sizes:  I think my only alternative and what makes sense ahead of a big brake build (6 pot Tarox) is to increase the rim size, and decrease the tyre profile, without losing the height of the defender 90.

Would anyone be able to recommend what reduction in profile I could take with 18, and then 20 inch rims to keep the same look?

Can you just bolt that plate to the boss with the bolts that the steering wheel was attached with? Then use the big bolt in the middle to push against the shaft.

Alternatively a regular pulley puller with two or three arms would probably be easier.

I did get the old bos off with the 3 arm puller, it popped off nicely. Now I have an issue with Optimil's quick release steering boss. The two locking pins are not setting into the base and hence the wheel can just be pulled off...

The hex screws in the boss are so small i double I could get a serious piece of metal to do the job, ill grab some of those arm puller things

  11. Hey Guys,

Im still having issues taking off the wheel. The puller kit I have doesnt match the bolt on the wheel, also, theres no holes or room for two additional bolts to form some kind of lock to push the wheel off

    I bought this kit https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N9B0KJE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Any tips? I really need to get a wheel on before some work booked in!
