  1. On a similar topic, does anyone know the exact (!) distance between the centre lines of the big bolt mounting holes for the Defender door pillar/bulkhead feet . . . . I have a repaired one which seems to be 1497mm . . . odd that it's not 1500mm - oh! sorry - this is a Land Rover ! ! ! Just wondered if it had been bashed? Many thanks Paul
  2. I'm not so sure that it would stand much over-volting - if we are talking about the Suzuki motor? It uses forced air cooling which would suggest to me that it runs rather hot if on full for any length of time. As we know: Heating is proportional to the square of the current, and current is directly proportional to voltage . . . . well, up the voltage even just a little and something that runs hot will run even hotter - OK so as the temperature increases then the current will fall . . . but line voltage of 13.6 is probably the most that this little motor could ever take IMHO As an aside, I found a Mercedes (300 something I think) core that fitted with very little fettling, into the housing, and even with the same agricultural blower, the heat output was about 50% more - very pleased. All the best, Lady Smith
  3. On the same theme, does anyone please have the dimension between the bolt to chassis mounting holes - my guess is that it's about 1500mm but I really need to know for certain before I end up with somehting that just won't fit, even with the Land Rover approved method of fitment. Very many thanks, Paul Brann
  4. Does anyone know for sure what the distance, centre to centre, is between the foot to chassis mounting bolts, I have seen 1510mm but the 'spare' bulkhead even though a little bashed at the foot, seems to be 1500 exactly . I want to make up a box section jig to be able to flip the whole bulkhead over to do the work, but need to be certain what the critical dimensions are - well subject to the usual Land Rover tolerances of plus or minus a football pitch Thanks Paul
