  1. Moved. Defender question = Defender forum.
  2. 65 is not bad for a 2.5TD, when all said and done it's an older utility vehicle with a strong offroad bias.
  3. Go to your nearest auto paint factors and discuss what you want to do with them, they will be able to advise and supply systems that won't adversely interact with one another.
  4. I believe he said "how much damage letting in 50% of all 4 micron wide particles into the engine will cause is open to debate." No mention of mileage
  5. I got hold of some mounting brackets from Waeco which enabled the unit I had to click in and out - not found the pics yet.
  6. Watch the height as it may prove uncomfortable for your elbow. I fitted a Waeco on temporary mounts between the front seats of my 130 and had to bend the gear lever to clear the front of the fridge. I have photos somewhere but would need to find them.
  7. Congratulations. Now let the fun / hassle / mess / sleepless nights / frustration / PND begin!
  8. I did something similar to mine some 18 months ago and the difference in range was immediately noticeable.
  9. If you appear genuinely interested to them your local main dealer would probably loan you a 110 of some description for a day / weekend.
  10. A 90 does not offer you vast amounts of storage space, in fact I usually find them pretty restrictive. Admittedly you are not going to be able to turn on a dime with a 110 but you quickly learn to adapt your driving to suit.
  11. i had a properly supported bonnet complete with spare wheel collapse on my noggin years ago - just one of the reasons why I dislike bonnet mounted spares.
  12. I think the Puma is one of the nicest towing Defenders I've owned ...and I've owned a few. My only comment is that a 110 would offer a less choppy ride.
  13. I moved this from the Defender forum so that a wider audience might appreciate the vehicle in all it's <cough> glory <cough>.
  14. Post a wanted ad in the wanted section.
  15. White Spirit is worth a try as are any number of other solvents but check that it does not start to lift the paint underneath too.
  16. I am closing this thread. Why? Because over the years questions concerning rust prevention and the various products and methods of application is one of, if not the most common queries to appear on both this and other Land Rover forums. This inevitably means there is already a wealth of information already in existence here and elsewhere including some very lengthy discussions of the products and services quoted. A quick Google search will bring up more than enough reading material to occupy the most inquisitive of minds.
  17. The seats aren't that much different so I doubt there will be any real issues.
  18. The personal asides stop here please.
  19. Up until the beginning of this year I had planned to replace mine with a new one in May. That said as mine is 'sorted' and I just don't have the time at the moment to run back and forth doing the 100 mile round trip to the nearest dealer so they can take care with the inevitable niggles, it's likely that I'll hang on to mine a bit longer.
  20. Welcome to LR4x4! My advice is to grab yourself a coffee / tea / beer / whatever and spend time reading back through previous threads and posts in this section as all the information you are after (and more) is already here
  21. I can see this has potential to get in a pickle what with the same subject being covered in different threads.
