Up until the beginning of this year I had planned to replace mine with a new one in May. That said as mine is 'sorted' and I just don't have the time at the moment to run back and forth doing the 100 mile round trip to the nearest dealer so they can take care with the inevitable niggles, it's likely that I'll hang on to mine a bit longer.
Welcome to LR4x4!
My advice is to grab yourself a coffee / tea / beer / whatever and spend time reading back through previous threads and posts in this section as all the information you are after (and more) is already here
Unless you are entering a concourse show then something near enough from you local auto factors ought to do, failing that take a sample for matching to your local paint factors.
Early ones had problems with clutches but they should have all been sorted by warranty now. There is a centre difflock as per earlier models but none in the axle diffs.
I understand what you are saying Martin Rant or balanced discussion - as with all things I suppose it depends on your own experiences, interpretations and POV. If threads get closed someone, somewhere will inevitably cry foul and say their freedom of speech is being curtailed. On the other hand others will object when threads are allowed to run.

Just a reminder that we all need to be mindful of potential implications both individually and to the host medium when posting personal names and the like on a public forum.

I've purchased several vehicles through the LR approved scheme. They all had faults, the onus seemed to be on me to find them rather than having them fixed prior to putting the vehicle up for sale.
Screwfix used to do some heavy duty spray on contact adhesive in aerosols that seems to perform well across a range of temperatures. Being able to spray it on makes applying the stuff to upside down surfaces a doddle.
