  1. That's ok, it's just that it's easier for you and everyone to keep track of what you are after, may have seen and what you know about them if it's restricted to one thread.
  2. Alternatively drill two belt width holes fairly high in the side of the seatbox and run a zip tie through them so that the belt is held loosely in place. Does the same job as the plastic strap riveted in the seatbox as per the late model vehicles.
  3. Can you keep all your what do you think about this vehicle queries in one thread please. That way you'll have all your info in one thread and we won't end up with a forum with umpteen what do you think of this type queries. I've just merged your latest request for opinions with your last and amended the title.
  4. Welcome to LR4x4. As this is a Discovery question I'll move it from the Defender section to the Discovery bit shall I?
  5. ^^That and cheap castings. Easy fix is to unbolt it from the inside, remove from vehicle, remove all paint and take back to good metal, etch prime, prime, colour coat and lacquer. Once dry refit with new gaskets and plenty of sealant. Job done. No as this is a Defender question this thread is off to the Defender forum.
  6. Look in your local yellow pages for auto paint supplies.
  7. I'd rather have a 130. I'll dig out some pics of the one I converted when I have time.
  8. On the way to pick up a couple of rugs for the ned in Stowmarket today I just happened to pass Aldi. A quick detour and a few quid later I had one of the welders and soldering iron sitting in the back of the 110. Even if it only lasts a job or two away from here it will save hauling the big set around for a bit.
  9. My view: My other views (in the way of general comment not aimed at anyone in particular) is that to get to know any vehicle properly you need to do as much of the repair and preparation work yourself. Doing this, as opposed to simply resorting to chequebook preparation by farming everything out to others, means you stand a better chance of being able to repair it yourself and not rely on other people. Saying that you lack the time or knowledge to be able to do so does not cut it with me - you need to make the time and learn ...by actually 'doing' or at least trying to 'do'. Yes you will make mistakes, but that's just part of the learning process. Buy a Land Rover (or other vehicle). Use it, fix it, improve it, modify it, get to know your vehicle - then think about taking it away. When you know what makes it tick surely you stand a much better chance of knowing what to do when something goes bang out in the middle of nowhere.
  10. In years gone by I've mounted antennas in exactly the same way you (without a separate earth cable) and they have SWR'd, functioned and lasted for many, many moons.
  11. Unsworth knew he was in the wrong and either pays the fine or goes to court. He requested info regarding the number plate regulations and these have been supplied. This is the Defender forum for technical queries. I'm not going to let this thread turn into a general discussion about how the police can potentially get things wrong or other wider issues. Thread closed.
  12. Can't see me ripping out my Puma's dash to fit one.
  13. There's rarely any such thing as a silly question! Welcome to LR4x4.com Please read the sticky thread at the top of the forum which should explain why it's unnecessary to post the same thing twice.
  14. Now moved back to the International.
  15. Yes I moved it, in reality it generally would only be one of three of the International moderators. While the subject could cover other models too I thought as it mentioned your 110 the natural place for it would be in the Defender forum. I can move it back in here just as easily. On a general note I tend to move model specific queries out of the International into their respective sections otherwise we end up with stuff all over the place.
  16. Nor me. Having checked PM's were set to unavailable - now hopefully sorted.
  17. I've got a diagram tucked away here somewhere. Google Whelen as that's what a lot of Woodway stuff is associated with. You should find a diagram off their site.
  18. I have to say I agree with Fridge. I probably might still have the dimensions somewhere but am making no promises about being able to find them! TBH if you must have a Land Rover from personal experience I prefer the 127/130 ambulance on which to base a conversion. The living area is much the same but being based on a converted Defender chassis cab with a box on the back means that it's lighter and spares are plentiful and easy to come by.
  19. Instead of adding tape to the jigsaw I've used masking tape on the panels themselves. That way you can measure, mark up and cut without scratching or permanently marking anything.
  20. Trickydicky, I've merged your two threads as they both regard the same subject!
  21. Bar cutting them off have you tried a decent set of narrow jaw molegrips?
  22. Many thanks. I'll give the Farmline a try and see how it goes.
