I'm new to this forum, and as it's often the case on different forum i'm just presenting myself future project with a 109 and past experiences with other vehicules. I'm definitly not into restoring all vehicules to a NOS state but simply lovin old mechanics (mainly diesel) making them in good enough state to travel long distance for expeditions in foreign countries. I'have crossed africa many times, either in an old merc truck or mauritania in a 109 serie 2a, latin america, asia etc. My next project is a trip to the step of Kazakstan Uzbekistan Tajikistan etc for a 6 month to 1 year travel and for this trip i'm planning to ride a 109 or 110. (my preference would be for the 109 much cheaper, and very simple mechanics.)
