Light Stone was used by the British & Commonwealth armies in North Africa & the Middle East in World War II. Known as SCC No. 61 Light Stone, it was used as the base colour from 1937-43 whereupon it was generally overpainted with SCC No. 5 'Light Mud' ready for Operation Husky - the invasion of Sicily. Don't have any information about it's subsequent renaissance.
