  1. I found this online a couple of days ago - a Defender modified into a roadster. Don't know about you guys but I think it is beautiful (in a leather cap and flying goggles type of way)!! Check it out here
  2. Defender owners will just love the new Land Rover iPhone Application. Based on the advert I saw for it, "Land Rover Navigator is a free navigation application for the iPhone, but instead of showing you how to drive over the road, it shows a straight line between you and your destination. With a Land Rover Defender you can practically conquer every obstacle you come across, so there is no need for roads". How is that for some Defender love Check out the full advert here
  3. Seems there is some debate over which event to support, I don't really care because I won't be going to either but a friend sent me this today and I thought it was brilliant in terms of marketing. Why would they have made such similar events on the same day?
  4. For those of you who are on Facebook, I dug out the Land Rover Our Planet group the other day - they have some pretty cool stuff on there. Check it out and join the group if it interests you... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/L...net/26698787363
  5. I do think you have a point sparq - sometime in the interest of preserving what we have and not ripping up already vulnerable areas - a system which updates on a daily basis, providing users with road and surface conditions/information would be a great idea. I'm guessing it would have to be a private endeavour though, perhaps getting GPS involved and some enthusiastic volunteers or community members (runners, mountain bikers and walkers could also be involved and also benefit from this service)... Sounds like a pretty cool business opportunity right there!!
  6. This happened to me once on a trip in the pouring rain... the only solution we had at the time was to tie a piece of string to each wiper, long enough to reach into the cab and then manually pull on them. As you can imagine this resulted in some hysteria especially from the driver who had to concentrate in the torrential downpour AND do his part in wiper motion I'd suggest getting it fixed before you reach this stage
  7. Good Luck Gelf, I know what it's like to have no job and it sure does suck!! Is there nothing you can do as a small business venture?
  8. I'm still surprised you chose to go around the round-about...
  9. I was poking around the Land Rover - Our Planet site the other day and came across this sentence: "As part of this commitment we have developed our own off-road driving code" this is quite interesting to me since a friend of mine was pulled over the other day for passing a stationery car on the left - which meant he went off-road, took the scenic route if you must... How do we let the traffic guys know that we are governed by our own rules?? They clearly didn't get the memo!
  10. I believe procrastination has been up to his old tricks!!!
  11. What's right with it, might be a little easier??
  12. I'm sorry to hear that you were ripped off Landowner, but it does comfort me somewhat to know that it doesn't only happen to girls like me. I wasn't ripped off buying a Landy, it was a wagon I'd been saving for to use in the snow (I was living in the USA at the time). I even took 2 guys with me to check out the car but after handing over the cash and taking the car to be certified I was told it would cost another $2000 just to get it through road-worthy... The car ended up breaking down a few days later and I was so angry I decided to have the thing squashed for scrap so that nobody else could be ripped off. I hope you get it sorted!

  14. Well when you put it like that, how could any girl NOT consider owning a Landy??
  15. Just let me know when there is enough snow to ski on and I'll be there in a flash - I won't even waste time tying the ski's on the roof rack, they'll just be chucked in the back!!
