Well this is the very old thread from another forum but the pics no longer work hence why I haven't worked out how yet! https://www.defender2.net/forum/post1005312.html#1005312

Ha ha, good spot. I only realised it was in the video when I uploaded it!
-
I think I have answered my own question. There appears to be a bush to remove to allow it to recline. Not worked out how to do that yet though!

Any suggestions for what this might me? I noticed it at low speed over bumps but as you can see it does it even gently pushing or rocking it. Definitely coming from the left front. I'll have a proper crawl around at the weekend. Thanks 20230823_134741_001.mp4

Has anyone ever taken apart a middle row seat from a puma? Im gathering bits to fit puma seats to my td5 SW. I got a bargain (since it had been attacked by a dog!) 40% seat from a DCPU and have just set about recovering it. I was aware that they are more upright in the DC than the SW but thought it was just because they are bolted to the body in the DC. It turns out the back rest does lock in a few degrees more upright so I'm wondering if there is a simple fix like a peg or similar to remove. Any suggestions welcome! Equally, if you have the 40% SW seat going spare, any condition, I'll put a post in the wanted section. Thanks.

Of course if anyone has a tidy grille and headlight surround set for sale then do let me know
-
OK thanks, looks like I might have to do something like this. I've just searched for this and can't actually see it on the halfords site
-
Have to say I've not actually tried a dealer but from memory a few places had genuine grille for circa £80 + vat
-
Is that the Mudstuff console? It looks very neat. Still got to fit mine so this might spur me on
-
Does anyone have any suggestions for a source of puma middle row seats that I might not have thought of? They seem as rare as anything and when they do come up on ebay they go for crazy money. I'm not after anything fancy, just an honest set to retrofit to my td5.

Just to close this out I never did find a plate or anything else so I guess it was just a white fleet civvie vehicle then. Definitely spend along time in a dry warm climate though.....judging by the layer of fine dust or sand that is behind everything I touch.

Thanks all. So can anyone point me to oem type ones for sale? Still struggling
-
My brakes didn't feel as firm after James Spurgeon replaced all discs and callipers. Definitely a case of them not working correctly before rather than now!
-
OK thanks. I would say the ones I've got (britpart) are more gloss than sheen but maybe I'm impatient
-
Can anyone point me to a place that sells original looking matt black grilles and headlight surrounds? I just want the oem look, nothing fancy, doesn't have to be genuine. Seemingly harder to come by than I thought. I ordered some that I thought would be ok but they are gloss. Thanks

Correct MOT description for 110 SW
1750gtv replied to 1750gtv's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
Thanks all, very useful. 'Land Rover Defender' it is then. @Will- do you know if its possible to get the V5C updated? Mine is scant on detail and just says 'Land Rover'. Not exactly important but nice should I ever sell it. Thanks -
Hi, My 110 Td5 SW is an ex mod vehicle and for some reason the MOT model is down as 127. I've emailed the DVSA and they say it's fine to change if I give them correct details. Would someone with a similar vintage (2003) 110 sw just check their MOT cert for me and confirm exactly what it says under make and model. I.e. just Land Rover 110, or does it mention Defender, Station Wagon etc. Oh also, should there be anything under Vehicle Category? Many Thanks
-
OK cool. That would make sense. I had a good look around and couldn't see it. There are a couple of rivets in that location that would fit with a plate that size so even if it had one it may have been cut off. I have put some details into the Merlin search so you never know. I thought even the auction listing from Brightwells would help build up a bit of history but haven't found it yet.

Where on the seatbox would I find the data plate? Bearing in mind this is a 2003 td5 station wagon.
-
Thanks, I'll take a closer look
-
Thanks all. I should have said its a 110. Under the rear/middle seats makes sense and there are some straps. It's just impossible to stop it flopping back and forth. Perhaps the bag would help, which I haven't got. Is there a specific location for the base plate and handle? Thanks
-
I nearly responded saying its red....but then I looked up what white fleet was

Hi All, it's my first post on here although I have just put one in the military section, so hello! I've just bought an early 2003 td5 SW which was in the MOD until 2018. I've got the highlift jack, handle and base plate and there are two straps under the seat. Can anyone with a SW put up a pic of how they should be mounted as I can't stop them clanging around. Many thanks

Hi all, First Post on here so be gentle! I've just bought an early 2003 td5 station wagon. It was bought direct from the MOD auctions in 2018 by Agricultural and Cross Country vehicles (exmod.co.uk) and they have confirmed it was in Cyprus until 2018. I just wondered if anyone has any more info on this type of vehicle or whether any can be found from the MOD. It's a pretty basic spec red SW with the addition of air con. Many thanks.
