  1. Hi all, I have a 2014 Freelander2 . It went into limp mode and when I put my code reader on it said EGR fault. Took it to the local garage and they checked and replaced the EGR valve. I took it away and it still has the same problem but they say now it may be the ECU that is faulty. My code reader says PO 480. Does anyone have any ideas on what else it could be. The nearby LR dealer says it is highly unusual for the ECU to fail.
  2. I didn't get any replies to either of my posts so I carried on regardless. The door lock that wouldn't undo, I took the door panel off from the inside of the vehicle, without damaging anything, completely removed the window motor and other fittings, loosened off everything on the lock that I could and wearing a thick pair of gloves I rocked the lock assembly rather forcibly backwards and forwards until it broke in half. I then ripped out the broken bits and whilst doing this the door unlocked. After that it was easy. I replaced the door lock with a unit from Ebay for £28:00. Th unit I fitted started to play up after a few months, with other lights apart from the door light, coming on. I bought another unit for a similar price and fitted it and It apears to have solved the problem. The original supplier refunded me without any hassle. It apears to have solved the problem. I worked in Zambia for the Land Rover dealer in Kitwe for a few years back in the 1970's and the door locks on those were a lot easier to replace.
  3. I have replaced the left side rear door lock assembly. Since then the alarm goes off intermittently. Does anyone know what can be the problem. The wiring seems ok. and the door locks ok with the key or handle?
  4. I have a 2014 Freelander 2 and the passenger side rear door will not unlock. I have taken off the door skin from the inside of the car, pulled the cable to unlock it without any luck. I can hear it clunking when the key is operated but nothing happens. I don't want to cut a hole in the door. Does anyone have an idea how to open the door?
