  1. Shifter is on a bit of cable so I don’t think it matters unless it has a different cable length between models.
  2. Changed mine from lt85 to zf auto and the tunnel was different and you need different high low linkage. I can do pictures if zf out of a classic would be the same size as you are thinking. Mine had v8 engine mount position and I didn’t change anything putting the auto in.
  3. - Tesla et al throw millions in R&D into finely controlling & monitoring their battery packs, then some bloke in a shed rips it out of a crashed Tesla, slaps an aftermarket control module on and crams it into a classic car. Ermm isn’t this what megasquirt does for engines ? pretty sure my engine came out of a classic and got crammed into a defender by me.
  4. I would buy the one I want and try and repair the broken one.
  5. So just pay the fee when you go to ikea ? it’s not unusual to pay for parking to go into city centres, this is some on top. The goal is to have air that’s not dangerous to breathe so in the absence of a better idea to do that as long as the goal posts are moved with enough warning and options and are available seems a way to go to me.
  6. I don’t see it being cancelled. Expensive for city centres yes but is city center really the place for them. The question is who is buying them and why. Series 1s aren’t getting any cheaper. I try not to play the what if game too much. If I’m happy with the price at that moment then it is what it is. Double your money is not a shabby return.
  7. The throttle is where my foot is most of the time so that’s important that’s not a lift. I could look at lifting it and then some sort of heel rest but I really want the brake pedal to be more away motion than down.
  8. Is it possible by any means to move the defender brake pedal ? Currently it’s very high and to press it I have to lift my whole leg and currently my hip has a quirk to it that makes that non ideal. For other cars it’s more of a move of my right foot than a lift. Even my Smax that has similar driving position. Is there scope to change pedal and still have brakes work ? I look at binky and seems anything is possible but is it a bracket or something more complicated. Mines an auto so I have a bit more room. my bucket seats are coming out as they certainly aren’t helping but just looking at options. Maybe it’s my time for a freelander 😉
  9. Renewables share of electricity generation was 37.3 per cent in Quarter 2 2021, falling under fossil fuels' generation share, this was largely a result of much less favourable weather conditions for renewable generation with lower wind speeds and fewer sun hours. plenty of renewable there. Don’t think all business use is opting green just so I would expect much of that is on the fossil stuff.
  10. You can go to a provider that only gets stuff from renewables. stuff like this https://rippleenergy.com I’m with Octopus I think.
  11. I had that on the 90. Got the motor rebuilt and put a heat shield in.
  12. If the press would like to instil some fear in climate change something that is a real problem that we need to act on to make it not a problem then great. Starting 10 years ago would have been a great idea. The climate is already changed now and we have to hope it’s only bad not catastrophic longer term. As for creating problems out of something that is not a problem that I could do with the press not doing. Very select pictures of empty shelves and large petrol queues not helpful. I hope the international news is reporting this for the silliness it is: Uk rocked by country wide panic buying to the point there are concerns for ambulances with after one petrol station in east London gets its delivery moved to next week…… “Are you getting an EV?” “no I get range anxiety “ “hold my water bottle……”
  13. I very much look forward to the day that the friction wear from electric vehicles is our biggest worry.
  14. Electric isn’t for everyone but quiet, less pollution in my immediate vicinity and something a bit different I would go for. I have a V8 and that accelerates faster until I run out of petrol money for it. 🙂
  15. I would happily take either of these.
  16. I got the creality enclosure for mine. They do a tent size one for the Ender 5 I think. It’s good for the money. Although the Ender 3 range have some budget bits on I think a lot of time has gone into making sure those budget bits work well together. I think possibly like cars it’s difficult to upgrade them and maintain that balance. Not going to stop me though. :-). Let me know how the 5 goes. I am thinking I’ll send away for bigger pieces but I could well be tempted with a bigger one. Or get the Ender extender kits to super size the 3.
  17. I got the Ender 3v2 (very similar to the pro) and very impressed. Seems to print well out the box. Just doing pla. I got the stronger springs and the bl touch (tried manual bed levelling and decided I’d rather have one less thing to worry about). Started with TinkerCad (most things are shapes) and gradually learning Fusion360. Dimensionally very impressed, measure it draw it print it and it fits. I thought little toys only but very useful for small replacement parts or something you want to be just so. Makes very pretty objects. Got octoprint that was very plug and play. Now starting to look at Land Rover applications. There are some plastic pieces for defender on thingyverse.
  18. Got a 3D printer and very impressed. If you can draw it you can have it. Maybe my long term plan of custom airbox has a new option. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lCqwA1h3JV4
  19. I had a merc with 225,000 on the clock and it was fine. Test driven some very tired nearly new cars that at 30,000 felt like they were about done.
  20. That’s not me. Sorry. I’ve put the driver seat in and it seems a touch close to the door so I need to move it across a touch I think.
  21. I watched some, looks good. I don’t think the cars run leaf springs so its not proper off roading but they do what they can with the 550 bhp little electric motor.
  22. Went with these for extending the seat loom. I think yellow one would have been better for this joint but I like these easy all in one. I think I had foolishly been assuming the land rover seat mounts are in a square pattern on the seat box but I now don't think they are so my attempts at symmetry in the rails are causing me problems.
  23. I can't seem to nudge enough. Maximum nudge still doesn't clear with the buttons on. What offset from seat box bolt holes to seat bolts onto the RX8 seats have other people used ?
  24. Mine would pull away in 5th while towing a house through the desert ! 😉
