  1. sorry for bringing this up again... but just fitting my new britpart arches at the moment... I wanted these since the other wide arches are tough, and if you hit them there is a tendency to warp the wing since they do not flex so much. I also like their look...looks pretty standard, just a bit wider which works for me. bungled up the first front one...you guessed it... I cut the inner bit wrongly.... managed to join it together and make it half decent using cable ties.... but the biggest issues is trying to put them back together using both the new arch and the old part (filler) in the same hole and using the same plastic thing... the plastic rivet is not long enough and it does not fasten properly as instead of one layer of rubber/plasic (arch), you have the new arch and the old cut up part acting as the filler, sandwiched together and you need to fasten in the same hole. in the end I ended up just stuffing the filler part in there, and drilled a few holes in the metal inner arch (6mm) and used the same plastic bits to keep in place... seems to have worked... alternatively one can consider using some nut and bolts (maybe not in all the holes to at least fasten this filler piece in place so it does not fall off. will actually consider this, remove a few of the plastic rivets and use nuts and bolts and it should work fine. will see what happens on the other side... cheers
  2. I know that this is an old thread but any idea on how to this in practice pls? re aftermarket pins, mine did get grooved and have contacted the supplier ( a chap in poland) and he is sending another one...
  3. Tf 204 is the heavy front and rear..... Think it is too stiff for what i need as well.... Front should be ok but rears are too hard definitely....
  4. From their info i think that you will be better of with light duty on yours... I have heavy duty up front for now... And looks ok... Slightly firm but will pass... Rears i have to decide.. Now the heavy front are light rears so csn try those at the back.. But i think will be too soft.. Most prob will end up with medium at the back and leave the heavy duty up front
  5. Hmm thanks... Seems to be a hit and miss thing this....
  6. Hi, Wondering if anyone had had the same experience.. Want to fit terrafirma plus 2 springs to my defender.... But the whole heavy, light medium thing is a bit confusing... My defender is a 300tdi hard top with full roll cage, winch and bumper up front, the usual array of guards for protection and nothing much more. Did anyone fit these springs and has a comfy ride? I like the ride a bit on the firmer side but still comfy.. As in not a bone jarring ride, but neither having the suspension too soft with thr car going all over the place.. Anyone has an idea what setup i can fit? I am assuming that i need a mix between the front and rear such as heavy front and medium rear.... Thanks
  7. thanks to both.. will check them out
  8. Hi, would anyone have an idea on where to get a set of bushes that can be fitted in a set of Bilstein 7100 14 inch external reservoir shocks.. I need to find these from a European location since they exist in the US but the price of shipping for a couple of bushes is downright silly.. The heims that come standard with these shocks wear out very quickly and rattle like crazy... so if anyone has some experience with fitting a set of urethane bushes on these shocks and has any idea where to get them in Europe, I would appreciate.... before i bite the bullet and pay 50 USD of shipping costs for an 8.50 USD set of bushes.. many thanks
  9. Brilliant. Any idea of selling price please ? And would these be suitable for fitting bilstein 7100 series ? Bolt size i mean at the top Thanks
  10. Hi, will you be having these mounts for sale shortly by any chance? thanks
  11. absolutely brilliant... boss has to get me a new monitor this book is a must.. better than reading clarkson....
  12. I personally use the Garmin Mobile Xt on my nokia 5800... there is the option of OVI but i am not a great fan of it personally.. you are supposed to buy the Garmin program and maps but well.... (will stop here) at least it is a dedicate GPS programme... but you need the A-GPS in your mobile phone..
  13. I have the newer high output ARB compressor fitted and it filled a 33inch tyre with no worries whatsoever and in a reasonable time... however i think for such things an external tank will help a lot.. Mine has a 50% duty cycle and should run constantly for around 30 mins before cutting out... at around 60lts / min i think it does the job. I have easily inflated airbeds and other stuff directly from the compressor and it does the job... the smaller compressors are only really good for running arb's. whatever system you use if you want fast work you need a reserve of air i think...
  14. thanks to all for the input... bio is the one sold at the pumps, and made by an oil refinery here... so I am assuming that it is tested and done properly.
