  1. Noticed that you're in Cheshire. I know a good cage builder who will manufacture to the correct specs for whatever form of competition. Speak to Chris Ratter at the Horsebox Hospital. www.horseboxhospital.co.uk they're near Middlewich.
  2. many thanks Tony that'll be my job for next weekend! along with, replacing the passenger front door card on the disco tdi finding out why the disco V8 sounds like a bag of bolts, and why the LPG doesn't work and why i can't get my 3.5 EFi RRC Rally Car to start when there's fuel and a spark. finishing the RRC roll cage, brakes, fuel system, glass replacement, door replacement, bonnet replacement/ repair, respray, brakes replacement, sports suspension pack fit,........................... the list, when does it end??????????????
  3. Dave, QT cages are made funnily enough by QT Services of LIskeard, Cornwall. www.qtservices.co.uk They now manufacture the Bowler wildcat cars, but have been building space frames and off road race cars for years. regards E-B
  4. Rohtron, I too was on the Armed Forces Team and was involved with the development and build of the 300tdi 'Wolf' 90's with Malcolm Whitbread and the engineering members of the AFRT. I can assure you that the cages he manufactured for us were FULLY compliant with MSA regs for Stage Rallying, not Cross Country events. I can also testify to the strength and stiffness of his cages after rolling on the Manx International round of the British Rally Championship and on the Tempest Rally. I have also seen the result of a 80mph + roll on a gravel stage in Iceland, the crew walked away and the car righted, started, and driven off. All be it the body work was in a some what ropey condition. It is safe to say that International Scruitineers on the Wales Rally GB would not let the cars compete if their safety compliances were not up to standard. I for one would have a Whitbread Off Road cage again anytime. If anyone out there is interested in a cage, then talk to Malcolm Whitbread, he's an approachable guy and will build to your spec's. Hope this helps put a few things straight. regards E-B
  5. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM TO ME AND HAS A SOLUTION? I HAVE AN '03 PLATE 5 DOOR ES TD4 AND THE SUNROOF ON CLOSING MAKES A NOISE LIKE PLASTIC GEARS SLIPPING. IN ADDITION TO THIS, AT ABOUT 80 MPH + THE SUNROOF LIFTS SLIGHTLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND CREATES A LOT OF WIND NOISE. THANKS IN ADVANCE E-B
  6. I'm interested in doing this too to my recently acquired 2003 TD4 ES. It has all the toys on it but no cruise and the drive out of Cornwall is so long.......... I've got a few feelers out for info and will post anything i get. regards E-B
