  1. if I were getting a new one i would get the new IR, but my blue point has never let me down over the last 5 years..
  2. Engineers french chalk for me. A box lasts me (at home) a good few years and only costs about £15. At work we get through a box every 3-4 months manly due to beeing put down and then coverd with somthing
  3. Has anyone got any pictures of an lt77 gear box in a series 3?
  4. Iv'e always used a Air washing gun/engine cleaning gun for the outside of the chassis. then i take the tip off and replace with a hose made up from bits from RS
  5. I have also lost control of a grinder (with a 1mm disc) it bit into a section of metal jumped down to my leg I have a set of scars in my thigh that look like Zorro has been around. The overalls i was wearing took most of the damage. Iv'e also had another near miss when using a wire brush with a grinder. I was cleaning up the rear of the chassis it suddenley bit and kicked into my face.. I always wear eye protection and the lenses took all the brunt and i came away luckaly with only a black eye
  6. I think in the end it depends what you want it be when its finished Personaly I like the rough and ready look But i use this for my work truck. Where as the series 2 im resorting i will be looking to have it resprayed.
  7. I have always had some halfords pro stuff and have recomended to others. I also have reps comming in and found that the signet stuff was identical. Signets quality has declined in the recent past, so perhaps the people from halfords are changing over their suppliers??? Some of the teng stuff is realy good but i have snapped two sets of balljoint splitters and had them replaced.
  8. Although you can use up to a ton a year with a licence from the local goverment. A lot of the companys processing parts for the aircraft industry still have to use it as its the only product aproved by the OEMs
  9. although you will need to change the engine mounts (the ones that join it to the chassis)
  10. floor standing or bench standing ones dont make much diffrence IMHO, get one with a pressure gauge i like to know how much im putting on the componant, always go for some quality plates as you dont want them giving up the ghost under 8 Tones and things flying across the workshop.
  11. Hi all Im going along on sunday, see you there then..
  12. Hi All I'm not going to be there tomorrow got a job on in hererdfordshire. I will be going to the LRW at eastnor castle on sunday as i will be just down the road.
  13. Cant agree more. they seem more set up to sell huge stereos systems with dustbins for exausts for people to put on fiestas and saxos, than to help with any kind of enquiry relating to actual parts for your car. But then the modified car market alone in the uk is huge so can you blame them..... They do seem to have sorted them selves in the tool department though. Good hunting
  14. Hi guys, have just come across this thread and living in swindon im intrested in coming along to the next meet, (as long as the truck has its MOT) When and where is the next meet?
