  1. Hi The mirrors on my 03 Td5 semm to be very loose on the swivel mounts. At the moment I have them wedged quite tight with some cardboard but it's definately not the answer. Does anybody know how I can tighten the mounts? Are there any "adjusters" so to speak? Thanks in advance Mike Stockport
  2. I think I have sorted out the problem. I removed the stat today and it runs just below the "N" with the rad muffler half-open. I will replace the stat with a 72 degree one and that should sort it out. yours relieved, Mike Stockport
  3. Hi all, Having replaced the headgasket (3 times) and the temp sender, voltage stabiliser, thermostat (82 degrees) and rad cap (10 psi) When the motor has warmed up I find that the temperature reading is in the middle of the red but remains constant there. However, when I stop and lift the bonnet to check if it's boiling up or not the radiator is hot at the top but cold at the bottom. The heater hoses are quite hot and the heater is blowing reasonably warm air. There is some overspill from the haeder tank but I'm not sure if the motor is finding it's own level. I have trawled through the tech section and have seen some other similar problems but nothing that quite pin-points mine. Anbody any thoughts on this Regards Mike Stockport ps sorry about the spelling of "radiator" in the title but I can't edit it
  4. Sad, definately not. I meant you could be the sort of chap that helps a lot of folks therefore maybe has his own archive of photos to draw upon. Sad, no, enthusiast, yes.. Thanks again Paul Mike Stockport
  5. A new (reconditioned) engine into this bobby I bought last week... cool or what? Mike Stockport
  6. SORTED ! Such is the power of the interweb! Thanks, top quality, swift advice.. Mike Stockport PS Just out of interest who has a photo of a dim-dip transformer to hand a swiftly as Paulmc???? Works for me though
  7. Right, even though its freezing outside I shall go and have a try at that.. Watch this space
  8. I had this problem on my 90 before I bought it. It turned out to be the steering box. The chap I bought it from fitted a reconditioned box(exchange I think ) and everything was fine and dandy and has been since. Even he had to admit the truck was extremely dangerous if driven with steering so light as it was.. Regards mike
  9. The headlights (dip) are staying on even when the key is removed from the ignition. I have checked the obvious such as are they switched on etc but I have to remove the fuses in order to turn the lights off. any suggestions as to what to try next? Sometime ago I noticed that the headlights came on when I selected reverse gear but this seemed to heal itself and I thought nothing of it after that. Regards Mie Stockport
  10. I thought about pub-gas for welding but when I looked into it it worked out under £2 per week to have the proper stuff (cougar from air products) delivered to my door. you can't get pint of lager for £2 these days, so for me it's value for money Mike
  11. I thought I was right...maybe someone will come along with the web-site? As for the series ones, I have a sun visor for my s2 (when it eventually gets finished!) and I tried it on the 90 but it looked naff to be honest. yours .... waiting
