  1. hi just hand painted my 90 in matt desert colour excellent paint self levelling brought from a guy at land rover show who sells nothing but paint will dig his no out a post tomorrow well worth a ring

  4. hi if you do a disc brake conversion via the rr rear axle route make sure you get a later model axle with the shock mounts both facing the same way it saves a lot of work dont know about change over years though?

Hi all happy new year came to fit my rr rear axle for my disc brake conversion on 84 defender but have noticed the os shock absorber mounting bracket is on the rear of the axle is this normal or is it someones cockup on welding a new mounting onto the axle there dosent seem to be any sign of an old bracket that has been changed or cut off and the disc protector all bolts to it as well if this is the norm can you buy the brackets or do you cut the old one off a reweld cheers

  7. hi doing the same on a 200tdi i read on the forum somewhere that someone used a fullwidth cooler from a citroen xantia might well be worth a look at your local breakers for one hope this helps cheers
  8. hi all hope christmas was a good one one small query just got a disc braked rear axle to convert my 90 stripped the discs off to clean up can anyone tell me do you tighten up the 2 nuts that hold the disc on against the wheel bearing tight then back off or leave them tight before bending the lock washer cheers

  11. hi personal cover is you are covered not the car tax ins etc wouldnt matter but irrelovant anyway seeing as you got it home all the best enjoy happy crimbo
  12. hi i know its a bit naughty but join up with the rac a get yourself personal breakdown cover drive round the corner conveniatly breakdown ie say the clutch has gone ie not fixable by the side of the road and they will relay you back to where you need to go just a thought
  13. hi try getting hold of a ultra thin cutting disc for metal will give a clean cut cheers
  14. hi dont know if it would make any diffrence well worth mentioning about comp use i think its a diffrent ball game with ins not sure but thats the impression i got from ins companies cheers
