  1. Oh i doubt it, just wondering as i saw one advertised and didn't think you could do it... The adaptor cost alone rules out that sort of cosmetic change. Going for some chunkier tyres though..
  2. What are the issues with sticking 18" alloys on a Defender? (Apart from taste issues...) 1) Will they just fit on or will some sort of spacer/adaptor be needed? 2) I'm assuming the speedo would then be innaccurate? anyone done this? Dave
  3. What make is this for? All the Grabber's and Mud Terrains i've seen at this size are over £100 each?! Dave
  4. arf arf... They're only 8" maxtel's. Will post pics asap. Unfortunately they're going to stay cosmetic for a while until i get all the other spots/wiring i want and a mud dash then pay someone to put it all in in a one-er. Dave
  5. Drilled some new holes in the light mounting brackets and bob's yer uncle. Should've gone for a air-con a-bar originally and they would had had loads of room...
  6. So i've got some driving lights but can't get the buggers to fit on the A-bar without fouling the rad grille. I've got a thin steel grill but the back of the lights still pushes it inwards. Anyone solved this other than trying to drill out the mounting brackets further forward (and spending £12 on a one use drill bit) I also thought of mounting them on the bumper and enlarging the pre-drilled holes but would rather avoid the drilling... any ideas? Cheers Dave
  7. All sorted now. They fit on just fine after a bit of manouvering. I think if i ever did any serious offroading i'd just unbolt them, but until then at least the girlfriend can get up into the cab! Dave
  8. Tim, cheers but i can't get that link to work. Dave
  9. I've got some brtipart folding side steps but no fitting instructions. I suspect it might not be that straightforward as i've got rocksliders on. Can anyone give me any intructions/pics on how they're meant to fit. It's just an interim until i can afford some tubulars. Dave
  10. Thanks All sorted now although it helps not to have sausage fingers! It turns out the A-bar i bought has unusual spotlight clamp locations and so i'm having to send my spots back to Simmonites for smaller one's (and i had to butcher the rad grill to get it back on. Grrrrr Here's hoping smaller lamps fit! Dave
  11. Sorry to hijack the thread, but i'm trying to get my bumper bolts out to get an A-Bar on. The bolts come out OK but i'm afraid that the small plate they screw into will fall into the chassis and i'll never get it back. How do i keep the plate ready to take the bolts again when there's only the tiny hole in the side of the chassis to get a finger in? Ta DAVE
  12. That'll be me then! It's a nice truck and i'm looking forward to playing with it. I bought it despite Tim's coffee... I'll be the newbie asking a billion questions on this forum now... Dave
