  1. Excellent, now where on the console does it fit? The ears dont seem quite long enough?
  2. I recently bought a console mounted accessory bag for my disco 1 and naturally as its used it came with no guidance. A couple test fits have done no help- anyone got a suggestion or a pic of it mounted to help? looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/land-rover-discovery-mk1-CENTER-CONSOL-BAG-cloth-RARE_W0QQitemZ280404133481QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item4149638669&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  3. Damn, tried it and no luck.
  4. How do I try compatibility mode?
  5. it reads: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see wether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, then contact the software publisher." Checked the system information, says "64 bit operating system" This is a couple months old laptop runnign windows vista FYI. Anything to be done?
  6. Mine installed OK but it says something about needing a 32bit version or somethign?? I worked for hours to download this and get it installed only to be stopped cold by something like this, figures.
  7. I am building a D90 and yellow/orange/red would look totally out of character, trying to keep the client happy, does anyone know of a black polybush kit on the market? THANKS
  8. This pesky wax mess they sprayed all over the engine is really making all my trucks look terrible under the bonnet. I see the label that reads RE-WAX AFTER STEAM CLEANING but is that the only way to be rid of it? Is there a type of chemical or cleaner that will dissolve it but is still safe for aluminum? THANKS
  9. I am sure the rest of the world has the same problems with the sweaty oil cooler lines, from what I have seen some in the US have figured out how to do away with the rubber lines altogether and use some AN style fittings or something and steel braided line for a "once and for all" fix... but they seem tight lipped about exactly how they did it. I was under the bonnet of a 90 thats just come over on a boat last week, and noticed someone had managed to cut the original lines along the metal pipe and braze on some fittings to mate them to what looked like hydraulic hoses (high pressure type, as seen on equipment, forklifts, etc). Any tips?
  10. Thanks, reason I ask about the AC is space looks tight with the condenser and fans in there...
  11. Filth- so there is room between the aircon condenser and the radiator for a fat cooler? Or does yours not have AC? Also, please tell me you got some measurements as locating a 7.5 tonne Leyland Daf truck here in the states might be a bit tough.
  12. So I was down at my buddies shop the other day having some exhaust work done, and we were trying to figure out how to get a larger intercooler into the Disco. Do you move the rad towards the engine some and then sandwich the new intercooler in the gap? Cant seem to figure out any alternative...
  13. Thats what I was afraid of. Yeah changing the dash isnt that big of a deal, I have pulled several in the course of heater core replacements on these. But as far as that goes, wouldnt I have trouble getting my hands on a LHD non airbag dash? It would probably be easier to just make something up.
  14. I dont know if it is the same in other countries, in the US all our trucks came with SRS airbags but I am lucky enough to have a normal steering wheel and passenger grab handle for my Disco. The old passenger airbag came out and the handle went in easily, but there is now a large hole in the back of it through the dash pad and my wife is complaining. Didnt really listen to her but the word "ugly" came up once or twice. Can anyone post a pic of theirs so I can see if I am missing something or am I going to have to get creative with some 5 bar?
  15. Hope this makes sense... So I am in the US and looking at D1 parts on Paddock, but I frequently run into items what say "to LA081990" and then naturally another part saying "from MA081991". Well from what I can tell, LA and MA were pre-1994 (when they Disco 1 started in US) so can anyone give a more complete guide to these designations? I dont even know the proper name to call them, chassis numbers, registration numbers? Here it would be reffered to as the last 8 of the VIN but I dont think you in the UK have 17 digit VIN numbers like us. Here is what I can find regarding NAS trucks: Also, and perhaps more importantly, would this number be anywere on my engine? I have what appears to be a '97 model 300 Tdi and I want to find out if it was "to VA117353" or "from VA117354" so I can order the proper parts for it. Thanks in advance to all, this forum is a great help.
  16. Well I was planning on doing that to get past the window tint regulations, checked at the same time. Maybe the inspector will be to caught up drooling over the truck to pay attention to details.
  17. Yes I can remove the sticker, probably easiest thing to do, but in the absence of the sticker, inspection protocol is to look it up in the book. Meaning they will come across the listing for the 3.9 and fail me for not having cats, O2 sensors, etc. If there is a sticker I can use half of, and half of the NAS sticker, that would be pretty cool. I could make one in photoshop but by the time I have it made I might have been better off bribing the inspector with $50USD. My 300 drivetrain appears to be out of a '97 model, but the EGR has been removed already. There is a blue sensor on top of the head and a throttle position sensor at the injection pump, neither are hooked up to anything. Truck runs great, but being as this is only the second 300 Tdi I've worked on I dont know a lot about them.
  18. Hello to all, new here so hope this goes in the right section. I have a '95 Disco thats been converted to a 300/auto, trouble is when I go to get the required annual state inspection and they pop the bonnet there is a big sticker going on about the 3.9 and all its associated emissions devices. Basically what is on the sticker needs to jive with whats in the bay, or else they will fail me. SO I need to know if A) the UK spec D1 trucks that originally came with the 300 Tdi had a similar sticker and if so is a replacement available from Land Rover? and B) Did all the Disco 1 300Tdi have EGR equipped factory? I will take a pic of the underhood sticker I am referring to and post it shortly, thanks for any help you can give.
